Appreciate the content as always! If possible you should move your notes under the screen so you don't have to awkwardly move your head every several seconds! Kudos to you though for having notes so you can speak facts and speak intelligently! Something the majority of the Youtube community doesn't do.
Palat is not what this team needed. Management simply didn’t get the job done.
I love the Palat signing we needed someone with Cup winning experience.

I like the Palat signing. He appears to be more of a playmaker than goal scorer but he plays with grit and can forecheck. I also like bringing on veteran leadership to what is one of the youngest teams in the NHL. Some players have to be held accountable by their peers. We also have to remember that the Devils scored 5 less goals than the NY Rangers this passed season and that was without having a Kreider on the team blowing his load scoring 52 goals. There are still more players to be added. I am sure Fitz is still busy working things out.
Team defensive and decent goaltending is what the team has lacked. Good job addressing those issues. Will be fun to see how it works out and watching the young players progress.
I don't know if what I heard was true or not ,but I heard Tkachuk is most likely going to want out of Calgary now that Johnny Weasel is out of there ,do you think Fitzgerald should make a big move Tkachuk being they are Related ?
Also, I like all the moves Fitz made ,except Vanecek !
I hate the palat deal. I feel like it's worse than not getting Johnny hockey. Palat is just getting a payday, he has no intention of competing. This is very bad. 6×6!!! Isn't the guy already over 30yo? What the hell are they doing?
Palat is a good pick up, not perfect, but still quite good. Smith is alright, not the big defensive addition we needed, but still something. Trading Zacha for Haula is a reasonable but nonetheless sad thing. I like Zacha a lot, really liked his fit on the team, but I suppose sometimes you have to break a few eggs to make a Stanley Cup shaped omelet
Zacha should have been packaged with someone like Ty Smith for someone more substantial .

Solid moves. Not flashy, but solid indeed. We are a fringe playoff team this year. 6 to 10th spot in the east.
I was hoping the devils would of signed mason marchment. Hes a big physical forward who had a good year last season. I get he doesnt have a ton of nhl experience, but it would of been a good risk considering how the devils desperately need some size.
All good role players but if we can’t add a legit first line winger then we still aren’t a playoff team. I hope we aren’t finished and I really hope I’m wrong. We still should hunt for Tkachuk.
Brunette was the most impressive signing. Palat is a marginal singing and is not a top 6 forward. He's an upgrade over Johnsson and Tatar, but we still are badly missing top scoring wingers. I hope you guys realize that if Holtz doesn't make the team this year, NJ will not have a player in the line up from the LAST THREE #1 Picks (#6, #4 and #2 respectively), which would perfectly explain why we are nowhere near the playoffs.
At this point, with the exception of Hughes, the Devils have really missed on a lot of top end Draft Picks. It's a situation the organization may really need to address if things don't improve …

Ty Smith is extremely expendable. With Nemec and Luke on the way, I can't see a future for Smith. That would make room for a Bahl, Ohtiyuk, etc.
I’ve seen a few comments saying they should move Ty Smith. I couldn’t disagree more. His game is far from complete, but he’s super young and has got all the room in the world to grow as a player. As far as Palat goes, I really like the signing. The rumored offer to Gaudreau probably would’ve caused cap issues down the road, and maybe even cost them Hughes or Nico. Having a Cup winner as a top line winger is going to help a ton.
I love what fitz is doing, just need that star winger that would be perfect

This is a big upgrade at forward. We need another piece like this and we still need to get better at D and Goalie….so basically everywhere lol. Let’s go devils

Palat was the foundation that made Kuch & Stamkos shine. He was the quiet engine under that high profile Tampa top-6. This trade cuts deep into BriseBois & Cooper. Sad day for them for sure.
Love the palet signing . Palet -haula-Tatar . Should be a good 3rd line .
Palat is more realistic for the Devils' needs than big money on Gaudreau. I like he will fit on our team. Can't argue with the point production of Johnny but this works well in the long and short term. Haula brings veteran leadership to the 3rd line, much needed since Zajac left, without compromising speed.
Brendan Smith can also play left wing, so he's a grit guy that can be plugged into the lineup in a few spots

Brunete looked out of his depth in the panthers series against Tampa. Not a fan of him and do not see him as someone who can take over lindy’s role in the future
So obviously Nemec is 3 years away or they wouldn't have gone out and signed two new guys. Fitzgerald was asleep at the switch this whole off season….he missed Fiala, DeBrincat, Husso, Gaudreau, and I am supposed to be happy with Palat? I'll be happy when Fitzgerald is fired.
I have a feeling that Zacha is going to pop with the Bruins. They have higher end talent and a lot of Czechs
Mixed opinions on Fitzpatrick right now. Most disturbing is he still has Lindy Ruff behind the bench.
