  1. It's hard to predict the future, but I think that this lineup could be pretty close to what we we see. Only thing I didn't like was you calling Seider the Berlin Wall.. It's not a good nickname. It was a tool of oppression that the Soviets used against the German people. It's also sort already taken by Nikolai Khabibulin.

  2. My lines next season.with what we've got.
    1st line Bertuzzi Larkin Raymond
    2nd line Zadina Suter Vrana
    3rd line Fabbri Veleno Berggren
    4th Namestnikov Stephen's Soderblom
    4th extra Rasmussen,Rowney

    1st pair Edvinsson Seider
    2nd pair Johansen Hronek
    3rd pair Mcissac Lindstrom
    Extra Sebrango

    Nedeljkovic
    Cossa

First PP (switch Vrana and Bertuzzi )
    Vrana Larkin Raymond
    Edvinsson Seider

    Second PP
    Fabbri Suter Bertuzzi (Guelph line)
    Johansen Hronek (both puck movers)

This is honestly what I think they should do. and depending how Bergren and Soderblom do they can be adjusted regardless.
    Offense and Defense
    No rookies playing alone
Each rookie is with veteran of our original team from this year.

  3. Bert larkin raymond -detroits own perfection line
    Vrana neiderbach bergren
    Namestikov suter soderblom
    Smith ras stephens

I'd trade erne for a short term lhd and veleno and zadina in a package

    Edvinsson seider
Lindholm (some fa or trade player)
    Johansen Lindstrom

    Ned
    Cossa or a old vet

  4. Rasmussen seems like the mostly likely young forward to not have a future. Everyone talks about how big he is, but he doesn’t play big. He gets knocked off the puck and gets knocked over more than anyone else on the ice.

  5. Tough to predict the future when you have an active GM like SY who has picks, prospects and salary cap to work with. I suspect he trades a few players we love for new prospects and signs some tough FA veterans to support further development.

Who saw trading Mantha? He will do something like that again, most likely this year. He knows the need is a top line or second line center and many holes to fill with 8 UFAs at end of the year. Let the wheeling and dealing begin.

  6. Good video, but I disagree heavily with a lot of your takes. While Hertl would be a great grab, he is a bit old to match up with the rest of the Wings emerging core. Hertl will want term and a big payday, which would just never line up with the way Yzerman appears to be approaching things. Not in term of age group, not in term of cap hit, and not in term of contract length. Look at the Wings contracts and it doesn't take long to notice that Yzerman has avoided major commitments.

I also don't think trading Zadina is the right move yet, and that you are heavily underrating Michael Rasmussen. Joe has time, so it isn't a Rassy vs Veleno situation yet. Rasmussen has taken huge steps this year, and his two way game is on point. He's learning how to use that giant frame, he is engaging, and he plays tough assignments. They should keep Veleno and Rasmussen for next season. The Wings don't need to make an urgent push for the top right now, I think the best course is to keep doing what they have been doing. After this season, DDK is gone, and the Wings are totally free from ties to declining players.

Expecting Edvinsson to step in an pull anything near a Seider is a fool's errand. Hope is one thing, but I wouldn't be expecting that to happen. Also, Albert Johansson has shown to be able to consistently compete at an elite level vs men in the SHL over the past two years. He is having another great year, and had it not been for the rise of the Berlin Wall, we would have been doing backflips over the season Johansson had last year. His skating is a thing of beauty, and his transition game is impressive. Albert Johansson is a 2nd pairing dman in the NHL. I have no doubt of that. William Wallinder is having a great year in the SHL this season, but it is his first year against men and he isn't doing as well as Johansson. Wallinder and Viro will need more time imo.

So, after all that.. here's my next year's lineup:

    Vrána – Larkin – Raymond
    Bertuzzi – ??? – Zadina
    Söderblom – Rasmussen – Berggren
    Pearson – Veleno – Smith

    Edvinsson – Seider
    Johansson – Hronek
    McIsaac/Sebrango – Lindström

    Nedeljkovik
    Greiss

  7. Why calling mo seider the berlin wall? That's like calling someone from brooklyn a cowboy and the berlin wall was also demolished. So it's the worst analogy i can imagine.

  8. I’d like to see to vrana on the first line this season and keep the Guelph line intact

  9. pretty much agree with everything stated even the losses of Zadina and Rasmussen. only thing is probably erne not being part of the team

  10. As far as my 2024-2025 line-up not including upcoming draft picks:

    Vrana Larkin Raymond
    Bertuzzi Berggren Holtz
    Mazur Veleno Nazar
    Soderblom L-D Nilsson Neiderbach
    ———————————————————–
    Hanas, Mastrosimone, Tyutyayev.

    Edvidsson Seider
    Wallinder Hronek
    Johansson Lindstrom
    Mcissac
    —————-‐—–‐——–‐——
    Buium Cotton

    Nedeljkovic
    Cossa
    —–‐—–‐—-‐—
    Gylander

Filip Zadina, Antti Tuomisto, and Victor Brattstrom we're traded for Alexander Holtz and a 2nd round draft pick.
Michael Rasmussen was traded for a 2nd and a 3rd round draft pick.
Suter and Fabbri we're packaged and traded for a 1st, and a conditional 3rd, that turned into a 2nd round draft pick.

  11. Hertl would be great, but he’d only be traded if he can’t agree to a deal with the Sharks, and he has a no-trade list, so do you really think the Wings would be one of the three teams he left off it? And if all that somehow happened, who and what do you see Yzerman packaging along side Zadina to get the Sharks to bite (pun very much intended)?

  12. I don’t we will trade zadina because we probably can’t get anything worth for him. It’s better just try and let him develop and hope he turns in the decent goal scorer he was supposed to be

  13. I just don’t think Vrana plays anywhere besides the first line. We signed him to play first line minutes. The second line has a lot of chemistry. I wouldn’t move Fabbri down. If we move Fabbri down we might as well trade him at that point.

  14. Interesting take for sure. I think Rasmussen on the wing has looked a ton better in recent games especially when allowed to be more in an offensive role. Veleno has looked solid as a third line center and those two have good chemistry. I think if you didn't trade Zadina (Hertl is a free agent next year) a third line of Ras-Veleno-Zadina is pretty solid. Zadina seems to always get stuck on lines where the system is asking him to play defense and what he's good at is offense and he's shown in his time on the top line that he can create space and be dangerous. I'm fine using him as a trade chip though. I think the idea of upgrading number 2 center makes a ton of sense and Suter would be another solid option as a 3rd line center. We lack some scoring on those middle lines. I also like the idea of keeping Bertuzzi on the second line. He makes everyone better and he can always play up or down so maybe that Vrana-Larkin-Raymond top line could be a problem.

  15. Here's what my prediction of what I envision what the Red Wings Line up would look like around the 2024/2025 NHL season:

    Forward:
    Bertuzzi-Larkin-Raymond
Vrana-(The first round pick of the 2022 NHL draft in either Lambert, Lekkerimaki, or Nazar)-Berggren
    Mazur-Veleno-Hanas
    Soderblom-LD Nilsson-Niederbach

    Defense:
    Edvinsson-Seider
    Wallinder-Hronek
    Buium or Johansson-G. Lindstrom

    Goalies:
    Nedeljjkovic
    Cossa

    First Power Play Unit:
    Bertuzzi(Net Front)-Larkin-Raymond
    Edvinsson-Seider

    Second Power Play Unit:
    Soderblom(Net Front)-(Lambert, Lekkerimaki, or Nazar)-Berggren
    Vrana(point shot)-Hronek(Puck Mover)

  16. Trade deadline: do you see the wings making a trade for a veteran defenseman to pair with Seider so he has someone good with him?

  17. I have a little different take. I think Buium is going to be that guy over Johansson along with Wallinder. Top line is Larkin Raymond and Vrana. 2nd line is Bert and Berggren centered by this year's top pick, loaded with centers. Suter drops down to the third line but he's centering Rasmussen who finally has some scoring touch and Soderblom on the other side. Their size creates room for Suter to be creative and they start getting shots off. Hanas is tearing up the AHL with his puck tricks. Johansson is rotating in and out of the lineup as the 4th LHD.

At the trade deadline Yzerman pulls off a blockbuster move trading Filip Hronek and Pius Suter to upgrade his third line center spot. He also gets a second round pick. Zadina has established himself as a solid bottom line winger but his scoring has improved. He's flirting with 20 goals and 40 points. Cross Hanas gets his cup of coffee and the bottom line clicks.

    Line one Larkin, Vrana, Raymond
Two Bert, Berggren, 2022 center drafted.
Three Ras, Soderblom, player acquired in trade.
    Four Zadina, Hanas, Mastrosimone.

    Of course Seider Edvinsson
    Then Wallinder Toumisto
    Finally Lindstrom Buium
Backups are Cross and Johansson, Sebrango still in AHL as a depth guy.

The second round pick from 2022 is threatening to take that RHD spot. Future asset management to come.

First penalty kill unit is top D pair plus Ras and Soderblom.

  18. No way they get rid of Rasmussen, he will be a beast in playoff hockey. Antti Tuomisto is a good right handed D prospect as well.

  19. I still can’t believe you basically googled “NHL UFAs” and just picked the top center and were like “life is just like video games, so Yzerman will trade Zadina for Hertl”. Why not go for Ovi and McDavid by 2025? If we have any big fish this year, it’s Trochek and Palat we should be casting for, not just because they would fill needed voids in the lineup, but because there are reasons that make signing them legitimate possibilities.

  20. 1. Draft Juraj Slafkovsky (he is next Mikko Rantanen for me)

    2. Trade Zadina, Wallinder or Buium and pick for Alex Turcotte.

    3. Win the cup with this top 6:

    Slafkovski-Larkin-Raymond
    Berggren-Turcotte-Bertuzzi

  21. unless your staring into a crystal ball who the hell knows wat this team is gonna look like in 2-3 years should be worried about at this next seasons lineup which you can’t at this point until tryouts n preseason starts so let’s concentrate on the team that’s already in place 🤷‍♂️🤔👍
