Drafting Isak Rosén was a mistake by the Sabres. Already proven pro-league goalie Jesper Wallstedt was available but they picked a smaller version of Olofsson instead. I highly doubt Rosén will make the NHL unless he makes huge improvment coming season. Portillo?

  2. Great breakdown! Hard to argue with your list. My only gripe, is I think Samuelsson was at prospect camp, so Does that make him a prospect? Or is he considered an NHLer after last season? If it does, he belongs in the top 10! He changed the season! He was maybe the best player, once he entered the lineup!

  3. Rousek, Bloom, Cederqvist and Nadeau are all prospects that would make other teams' Top Ten Prospects. And Poltapov , Kisakov. Our pipeline must be the NHL's best, by far.

  4. Don't sleep on Kulich he is 2 years out I think. He can shoot it too Ostlund I'd say is 2 years out but I believe Savoie goes back for 1 more year and he's either NHL/AhL , everyone compares him to Briere and yes he does but others compared him too Brayden Point and Matt Barzal soooo I'm ready for him next year. . But he's coming and fast. Nadeau I'd love to see in a year or 2 with his Power forward type play and a element I think this needed for this team and what is lacking up front. I'd Def be giving Savoie and Kulich a 9 game look. Sorry to say but I think they could both use it so they know what to expect. There is no way Peterka and Quinn don't win spots this year. My Opening night Forward lines are. Skinner Thompson Olofsson. Krebs Cozens Tuch. Peterka Mittlestat Quinn. Okposo Girgensons Hinostroza. This team really needs a good power forward like a Matt Tkachuk type. Can't forget Nadeau Kisakov Rosen and Bloom I believe will be in the AHL. I think the Olofsson bridge signing is a stop gap Til Savoie arrives.

  5. If Peterka doesn’t make team I hope he asks for a trade, it would be a joke if he didn’t make team ahead of Asplund, Hinostrova, Bjork, Girgs etc

  6. GMKA is playing all the right notes for me right now. I know there will be some misses along the way but even Big Baller Beane gave Wyatt Teller away for a 5th rounder. Excited to watch these next couple seasons!! (Didnt think id be saying this 2 years ago)

  7. My top 10 are
    1. Power
    2. Quinn
    3. Savoie
    4. Peterka
    5. Levi
    6. Kulich
    7. Johnson
    8. Rosen
    9. Portillo
    10. Ostlund

  8. Wasn’t looking at Powers as a “prospect” since he’s already in the loop.

  9. I keep forgetting we had a second 1st Rd Pick last year in Rosen. I need to know more about him. I know not a lot of playing time last year. But at camp, he looked like everything was at lightening speed – his skating, his hands, his shot, etc. Still too soon to get a read?

  10. Do a podcast on top trade candidates, including prospects. If Johnson wants to play where his dad works, maybe LAK will swap a RHD.

  11. I thought it was a great breakdown of the prospects but IDK if we can really call Power a prospect can we? He'll probably be the #2 defenseman this year behind only Dahlin.

  12. Savoie is probably a winger, but even if he stays at center, he is not taking the #1 Center spot away from Thompson.

  13. Do you seriously know what your talking about? It does not take ions to project goalies. I went to the prospects camp you could clearly see the difference between Leinonen and both Portillo and Levi. Actually at times Portillo looked better than Levi. Levi has one huge flaw (no pun intended) and that is his size. I’m so glad finally smaller goalies like Dustin Wolff are getting a look. UPL very raw? come on you can do better. UPL has all the tools. The problem is he can’t stay healthy and the other thing is he’s inconsistent. He is way better technically than Ullmark ever was.

  14. How about Tyson Kozak? Did you just completely whiff on him and how he performed during the prospects development camp?

  15. Can. They ever get any body as good as Hasek . .. they need a another good goalie and a major scorcer.!!!!
