No Stuart Skinner should start off as the back up and if he does prove himself put him as starter depending with the other goalie
Your willing to "bet the farm" on a goalie who played 700ish min? Yes he could be great but there needs to be a goalie who is a #1 if he can't be. 700 min of nhl time is far too early to judge. Cant bet on a unknown if the oilers want a cup.
Soup has been vocal about letting bad games hurt his performance mentally. The oilers d probably isn't the best for a goalie that feels the L is all on him. Thats why Smith worked, he was confident after getting burned by 3 back to back goals against, the team could rally around it. I don't think soup has the same confidence.

I’d like to have stu as our backup for the next 2 years minimum. Get some experience when the fans can’t hate on him as he is developing to the nhl games. If husso and Campbell are asking for the same amount I’d prefer Campbell. Husso had one good year but having skinner as the backup scares me. All the players that have made there way over from the leafs system have been good for us.
Given the fact we have to I mean have to sign Kane kulak Jessie and yamo there’s no cap for a goaltender so skinner has to be the starter and he can do it so ya looking for a backup now Holloway also has to start move fogel and kassian for him
In his first full NHL season I don't expect him to play 1/2 of the games. Maybe 40%, maybe, if he does well BUT what if he finds it early and holds it. We'll see. Take care all.

I like Cambell over Husso but I don't know if this goalie would consider moving to Edmonton. I really like Casey Desmith hes a ufa the cost will be way lower. 30 yrs old 96 games played 915 save %
I really think Desmith and Skinner would be a solid low cost Tandem.
They have to go all in on gibson what ever it takes.
I really want to see Husso as an Oiler! Me and my dad both follow hockey together, I'm an Oilers fan and he's a Blues fan! I've got to see alot of Husso's progress and feel he would be perfect in a tandem with Stuart Skinner! Better yet if Mike Smith decides to play out his contract, he can be there and an alternate backup and amazing mentor to both Husso and Skinner! 😊👍💙🧡

Hellybuk trade is now a possibility. Barrie, pj, and maybe even samarukov is what I heard. This would allow us to sign Kane and solve the goalie issue
Skinner should play 30 to 35 as back up only sign older goalie (30 to 34) 2 year contract 2nd year Skinner gets more games…. 2 years Skinner be full time starter
Smart move would be Skinner as back 30 to 35 games only for this year and go from there
A LOT of teams need goalies this year which means there will be a lot of overpays. The key is to not overpay by any more than you have to.
I'd look to Skinner to start anywhere between 1/3 to 1/2 the games so the guy I get to pair with him should be good for 1/2 to 2/3 and be priced accordingly.
Whoever it is will not be perfect or without risk so don't expect miracles. There's still work to do on the D and that will go a long way to making any goalie look good.
Get Campbell sign if not the oilers will be lossers skinner is not a starter
