Idk how I feel about Vatrano, it's kind of a meh move to me. I don't think the Rangers should waste cap space on resigning him. And I guess a 4th round pick is not bad to give up for a rental player.
Just fyi Calle Järnkrok and Elias Lindholm are cousins and have played together in the Swedish SHL for Brynäs in 2012.
And Brynäs won gold that season.
I agree we overpaid but we also set the market for Defenseman. Prices for Lindholm and Gio just went up. Plus we went for chariot who has a cheaper cap hit so we can go after Giroux
Yall disprect Chiarot so much. You only look at the analytics of this season, on the habs line up. I watched everygame in the last 3 years. This is a great gritty additions for the panthers. Keep in mind, he was part of the heavy 23-25 minutes playing top 4 D, that beat Leafs, Jets and Vegas. All offensive powerhouse and really grinded their superstars. He is built for playoff on Top 4 minutes and only costing 1.75M$ is perfect for the panthers. This is a fair deal for the panthers. You will see come spring time how much valuable he is.

That Vatrano trade was a steal for the Rangers.
Chiarot has spent a big chunk of the season paired with struggling d-men and those analytics don't reflect his actual on-ice play. He's been one of the few bright spots this year. Consistency, leadership and a surprising production for a defensive d-man is what comes to mind. The intangibles he brought will be missed.

I'm kinda disappointed by your analysis of Ben Chariot OhNyquist…Analytics on him this year means shit to stay polite because of the massive problems of the team in terms of injuries and changing all the time his partner.s..He is a top 4 gritty defenseman and a veteran who played last year in the final of the Stanley cup, that alone is worth the value of the 1st round pick and the prospect…Hell the Leafs paid an injured Nick Foligno more than that ! Also he is healthy unlike half his team and as been pretty good offensively in the last month. The cap retain is pretty much the value the value of the 4th round pick…It's a pretty even trade that works perfect for both team. Montréal get a more asset to rebuild and a good prospect, Florida get an excellent defenseman that is gonna hurt most of the Atlantic, which he already did in the past…Excellent trade for both GM !
