Malkin is my favorite player. I’d love to see him in LA if he leaves on a 2yr deal. I know they have a lot of centers but Byfield playing with his clone would be amazing.

I wouldn't take a 35 year old Malken on my team if you gave him to me. Look at his +/- ….on a team where almost every player was significantly in the positive, he was a -10 in 41 games despite his scoring prowess. You will get even less scoring from him going forward and more scoring when he is on the ice by the opposition.
Like Malkin but time may be up for him in Pittsburgh. Great player but he's only getting older and his health for the past few seasons hasn't been the best. If he does leave I'm proud of the memories he's brought to the city the past decade and a half.
What other options do the Penguins have if they don’t resign Malkin? Personally I feel they need to resign him. They will not be getting an upgrade. If they do then they need to pay. They might as well pay Malkin at a decent price. I’m sure Crosby won’t be pleased if they let Malkin walk in free agency and Crosby sure as hell ain’t in for a rebuild any time soon. Not while he is still an elite player. Let’s hope they can come up with a deal that makes sense.
I know in the past there has been some talk about Malkin going to the Florida Panthers. I have no idea if they could even swing that or not but it was a rumor around Pittsburgh a few years back.
