  1. I'm taking a different angle on this series:

Most people will talk roster depth but in the cup finals you see teams riding their big horses. The Makar Toews pairing will play 50% of defensive ice time so they win the defensive matchup even though Tampa has a better top 3 pairing. Colorado will play their top 2 offensive lines 2/3 of the time so their bottom 6 depth won't be as big of a factor. So this is how it plays out:

    1. Tampa must start hot and take advantage of Colorado rust, uncertainty with goalies, and Kadri injury. Tampa can't come back from 0-2 in the series

    2. Tampa leans on it's depth. They will play 4 forward lines and 3 defense pairings. Tampa can't give up long passes on the changes and have to win with fresh legs over top line skill. Coach Cooper relies on depth. Depth helps with thin air in Colorado.

Bolts 2nd line matches up with the McKinnon top line for defense

If Point is in then Tampa does it. He moves to 2nd line and they win with depth and fresh legs and the best playoff performer Vasilevsky. If Point is 75% then Colorado wins behind the best skater in the series (Makar)

I've got Tampa in a brutal series but I'm solely hoping for Points healthy return.

  2. I would argue that Colorado has as much of an advantage with increased Red Blood Cells on the road as at home. Our ease of breath and decreased HR on the road may be a factor in Colorado’s fantastic road record.

  3. Home ice is great, but the Avs haven't lost on the road… just sayin

  4. When I was 8 my papa gave me a hockey stick. I held it like a righty but it was a left handed curved blade. So naturally I was righty but had to switch because of necessity. I believe it helped my stick handling in the long run.

  5. Whats the altitude do with the lightning players ?…i remember when the Buccaneers played there on sunday …fly on saturday..beat the shit out of the broncos than fly back..

  6. Just started watching your channel this season. Love your knowledge and commentary!

Krenn has Nash on line 4 when Point comes back but I’m pretty sure That will be Perry and Nash will be odd man out. (Unless Perry has an injury I haven’t heard about)

Thanks for the great job you do! #GoBolts #3peat #3elieve

  7. I like the lightning as underdogs cause it means more money to make on them gambling. Bolts in 5 or 6

  8. I just think the goaltending is extremely lopsided. The Avs goaltending is great for regular season. But they are just average in the playoffs. It really gave the blues a chance to creep back in. A lot of soft goals given up. And I think the tampon bays defense is better defensively. As much as ppl like to say it’s close, it’s really not. Great super star offensive defenseman does not equal defensive play. From Hedman on down tampon bay is capable of being extremely stingy.I’ve heard some idiots give the Avs the edge defensively. Not sure how you writing “professionals” have jobs lol

  9. As a Coloradan who plays in a hockey beer league yes the altitude can get to you. Many pro athletes train in Denver (5280ft) or at even higher elevation in Breckenridge (9,600 ft) or other mountain towns to get the advantage the breath guy mentions. #GoAvsGo

  10. I’m not a doctor (yet). Studying at Stanford Med. There’s pretty much nothing Naz can do to get back in a week and change. He can probably come back in 2-3 weeks if he does everything in right. Game 2 would be 2 weeks. I’d give him a shot to play after that. But obviously he’ll be hindered by the mobility there. It won’t fully heal for months.

That said. Yeah it’ll affect his stick handling a bit; and it’ll probably hurt no matter what he takes. But I’d say his left hand is far more important overall. Tbf I tend to keep my top hand thumb straight on the stick and use mostly wrists, which he should be able to do easily. It’s much more a grip issue to me. May lose the twig once or twice.

  11. Really interesting info and data on the altitude! Of course, hockey players are super fit, but i feel like conditioning isn't as important in this sport as some others (like u mentioned), especially when the teams are as deep as they are! But Vasy is going to get a lot of exercise… I hope! Go Avs!

  12. Hate to be a stickler, seems whenever everyone brings up the Bolts awesome home record 7-1, they fails to mention the Avs undefeated record on the road at 7-0. I just find THG and Avs youtube channels are the ones that don't fail to mention this Stat, it's not only awesome, it's perfect. Or fails to mention that they bet 2 teams that had over a 100pt seasons and one that one of them was former Stanley Cup Champ. TB deserves every praise they get, but there's only 2 teams to look at, i don't think it will be to difficult to inform audiences by putting all the cards on the table.. Thanks for backing up Kuemp, it was clear he wasn't right in that Blues series after eye injury, and I do think he is better Grubauer. I think he now knows he doesn't have to do all the extra stuff like did on weaker teams, that may explain his shaky start to season, but he was lights out after that, especially during the Avs 19 game home point streak
This series is Cobra Kai, strike first & strike hard, no mercy

Here Are Two Rules Of Miyagi hockey. Rule Number One: hockey For Defense Only. Rule Number 2 – First Learn Rule Number One

  13. It’s going to be a great series! It’s going to be a “matchup” series. Expect a feeling out game 1, TB will likely lose it. Then the adjustments happen & TB Lightning will show their many years of NHL playoff adjustments & exactly why they’ve won 11 straight playoff series & back-to-back Stanley Cups.

  14. In fact Avs road record is the only undefeated road winning streak with more than 5 wins, if they lose all their road game left, its still 7-3, beside leafs twice and Habs once with both a 5-0 road before expansion, a Avs sweep will make nhl history as the best single season playoff 9-0 road wins record.

  15. Thanks for updating Point… I can see you saw my comment about him in last stream! Thanks!

  16. I just hope we get a real fun competitive final. These two teams can trade punches all day long. This is a heavyweight fight. An unstoppable force meeting an immovable object. I’m a bolts fan but I could see this going either way. Bolts in 7. Kuch wins the con smythe. Empty the clip. Let’s go to war.

  17. Really looking forward to this series. Knowing that if the Bolts pull it off, they will become a dynasty. In my mind there is 3 keys for them win 4 games against a superb Avs team.

    1. They are going to need to score 3+ goals each game. Gotta give Vasy some breathing room. Can't afford to have stagnant offense in this series.

    2. Defense needs to show up each game and block shots like crazy. Avs are going to take a lot of them and Bolts have to limit the amount of them that Vasy has to defend. Help the Big Cat out!

    3. Vasy. Vasy. Vasy. He is our MVP and need him to play like it because when he does, the Bolts are very hard to beat in a 7 game series.

  18. If altitude was an advantage then wouldn't the Colorado teams be undefeated at home? I don't think this is as much of an advantage as people think. These are pro athletes, all from different countries, used to traveling to different elevations on a day to day basis.

  19. Patty Maroon was on Pat MacAfee podcast yesterday. None of the boys, including Maroon, Pat and AJ Hawk, have ever noticed the altitude playing in Denver. They think it is overhyped.

  20. Science: altitude change sure… But they are in a building with air circulation . which weights more a pound of feathers,a pound of iron? Or 16oz of water?
The air in building is standardized. So no advantage in indoor competition. Unlike outdoor activities.

  21. Coach! Thanks for the shoutout- made my day. And as far as pronouncing “hypoxia”- you nailed it on the first try! Wearing my TBL cap in the OR today- Go Bolts!

  22. I love all the chin wagging before a series! If you're not telling the other team theyre going to lose, something is wrong. It's going to be a fantastic Stanley Cup. GO BOLTS!!!

  23. Avs have yet to lose on the road in the playoffs and have swept 2 teams. Old dogs have had one hell of a ride but there time has passed. Tampa beat the cursed maple leafs, a regular season strong, but playoffs clueless panthers team, and a young inexperienced rangers team who couldn’t score to save their lives. Everyone is concerned about COL playing Tampa, but I think that stereotype should be reversed.

  24. As a Colorado Native, the difficult thing with elevation is that it varies a lot from person to person. Even speaking from personal experience, I often have no idea how much it will affect me when I go from flat land to the mountains. There's less variation with the enormous benefits you get from living in the mountains and then going back to flat land. The effect is strongest (in both directions) within the first few days, so I think it'll have the biggest impact on Games 5, 6, and 7 with the rapid back and forth.

  25. The injury to Girard is sickening he may never return to hockey.. Broken sternum is a very serious injury that could have killed him
