We need just a little time . A few of our current younger guys to not take up to much cap and be good bottom 6 and mid guys would be awesome .I can see a few of our guys developing into 80 90 point guys with the right Chem with one of the youngsters . and not end up needing a 95 plus point player that doesn’t work like bertrude and lark .

Every Cup contender has a true #1 All-Star quality consistent 40+ goal forward. Could Larks or Bert or Raymond be that guy with consistent linemates? Questionable. Could Vrana and Kubalik be Czech mates and pop 30 each? Copp and Perron are 20+ goal guys who backcheck. If we have 7 guys capable of scoring 30+ We need another mobile D with a laser shot to keep O zone pressure up 40 mins a game, and a Russian trained Vasilevskiy clone.

Wings need two to three left wingers, one to two centers, and one to two RHD. The goalie situation is solid as mentioned. With Bert and Vrana, and potentially Zadina, Berggren, Soderblom, Hanas, Lombardi, etc … I think we'll have enough depth at that LW, With Larkin, Copp, Kasper? We really could a couple more at center. LHD… We know that's drafted. Could use an upgrade over Hronek and possible Lindstrom. If Lindstrom gets it together he may be that cheap. Reliable bottom pair we need.

Talking about having a superstar. I'm interested to see what kind of season Dylan Larkin will have now thar Detroit has 4 complete lines and depth to be able to plug holes when someone gets enjured. Till this year to beat the Wings all you had to do is shut down one line. Larkin has superstar skills not to mention he has more desire to win than most. Let's see what happens if the Wings are playing meaningful games at the end of February.
I suppose the hidden defensive agenda with the 1 yr contracts with clear upgrades is to drive competition among the young core of underperforming defensemen to see if the can replace the band aids organically next year. Just a thought.
