Seider looks serious on the ice.
Seider is mature enough to wear an A and he has the playing ability too. I think he's got great leadership potential and now is not a bad time to start building it. Bertuzzi is also a good option. He is a leader on ice. He's got real grit you can see in everything he does on ice, infectious energy. I'd even go as far to say he had captain moments last season. But I think Larkin is still the most solid option, and missing your captain playing any games in Canada isn't ideal.
Honestly In my opinion (I have to say that bc ppl nowadays don’t know what that means) I think trading for Tkachuck isn’t worth it. Also we should’ve kept Staal fight me on it.
For me it’s no doubt Seider and Bert but I could see a few other names.
St Louis wants him bad but I’d send Zadina and Bertuzzi and someone else for him. We’d be instant contenders.

Pass on Tkachuk besides he apparently has given a list of 6 teams he would be willing to sign long term with and Detroit is not on the list so forget about it. If the Wings are going to make a trade, it needs to be for a top pair LD to play with Seider and move Chariot to the 2nd pair where he belongs and Maata to the 3rd pair or 7th dman if Edvinsson makes the team. Target Philly and Vegas who both need to shed salary and pry Sanheim or Theodore from one of those 2 teams. With the improved scoring depth up front, solid defense and goaltending, the Wings would be a playoff contender this season.
Tkachuk would likely cost too much in trade assets, and probably not fit in the cap structure Yzerman is setting up. I question if he fits the personality that the Detroit franchise has shown over the years.

Do you think they would want D i dont think so. they will turn to the Blues and go for Jordon Kyrou, Bertuzzi is not vaccinated no way he is not aloud in Canada. You would have to start with Copp or Perron top prospect 1st round draft pick and 2nd round draft pick minimum. That is a big hole they have to fill loosing Jonny Hockey and Tkachuk he will not be cheap Raymond spare me. You would have a long way to go to get equal value for Tkachuk using Raymond he is not even in the same league as Tkachuk get real!!

I think it is a year or two too early for Seider. I would prefer for him to develop further in the current state of mind, no real need for me to put this extra pressure on right now. But I have to admit that they might give him the A already, despite my "advise" because of a slight lack of top notch leader qualities at the core from last year 😉 …. I lean on one of two combos: Either Chiarot and Bertuzzi OR Seider and Copp. The reason is, that I feel that the best combo basically would be Chiarot and Perron, but I worry there's a risk regarding the chemistry if you hand out two A's to new guys. At the same time, I think it might be a good balance to have a A on both a Defenseman and a Forward when the C is a forward. Hence: If you want Chiarot, I would go for a Forward who was here last season as well and out of that core I think Bertuzzi has most of the qualities to wear a letter. On the other hand, if you think Perron is better to give an A than Chiarot, then I would have to go with Seider, because I don't think any of the other D's has enough respect and leadership qualities to fit the bill right now. Just my two cents.
