  1. If it involves a 1st and maybe one of our 2022 first rounders plus Portillo or Johnson (who we will probably lose anyways) then I'm all in. If it involves somebody like Cozens or Quinn then no.
Better yet, a 2024 1st, Rosen and Johnson would be great.

  2. I see the Stars needed someone like Jack Quinn or a Peyton Krebs.
I can see this offer being made by the Sabres.
    To Dallas-
    2023 Philly 2nd
    2023 Vegas 2nd
    2024 Buffalo 1st
    Victor O.
    To the Sabres-
Jason Robertson signed to a 8 year $8mil per contract.

If Ryan Johnson doesn't sign the Sabres get a 2024 compensatory 2nd.

  3. No no no no no. Dalin only gets 6 mil Tage 7.1 mil this kid wants more no way no way no way. We don't sign another player for more than Tage for years. No no no God please no. Dallas has money problems not us take your headache somewhere else Dallas.

  4. I think there will be a bidding war for Robertson. Most teams are in a a dollar in dollar out stuation, which is where we are at an advantage. Not sure what Dallas would want in return and whether we have the assets they require.

First up is would need to be a sign then trade deal, we do not want to inherit Dallas' RFA problem.. Would they take either Mittelstadt or Olofsson plus two prospects/picks (not 2023 first)? We could also return Ben Bishop's contract, retaining 50% if they want him in their front office. As far as bad contracts go, the only one I would take is Khudobin. Other players have too long a term that would clash wish some of our players needing to get paid in 2-3 years time.

Gut feeling is that he is out of Dallas, but not to Buffalo.

  5. Robertson is slow, he just stands near net and let his teammates do all the work, he’s a fine goal scorer but we don’t need him, we have Peterka and Quinn. Why do we want to pay him 9-10 million? Just play the rookies and watch them grow. Peterka is as fast as Alex Tuch or faster and Robertson is slow like Reinhart sloth

  6. 40 goals for 1 season I don't know Wayne. if we take a bad contract maybe and guys that have the posibilty of not signing with us after college. perhaps if that is for sure.

  7. I wonder if we would be a middle man. Dallas us and LA. Johnson and Robertson end up in LA we likely take cap and a high prospect from both teams.. I wouldn’t want to give up a 2023 pick especially if it is a lottery pick. Conner Bedard is the prize this year if we say got lucky. Probably would have to take the Benn or seguin contract like you said (wonder if we take 50-75% of the cap and Dallas keeps some too).

  8. I gotta say no to this UNLESS we dont give up too much. Even then id still be iffy on this. Yea we have the $ for him now….but we're gonna need that $ when we have to sign all of our prospects in a few years. 👍👍

  9. As much as I love Robertson, I feel like Buffalo is on a good trail. The safe bet is to stick with it, and not mess with it for atleast one more year.
With that being said, I feel like a trade package for him would have to atleast START with something like:
    -Mittelstadt or Olofsson
    -Ostlund
    -RFA Rights to Portillo
    -RFA Rights to Johnson
    1st.
This could also even be far off for Jason Robertson.
    Keep the videos comin, Wayne!

  10. I rather just roll with the players / kids we already have on the team. Trading away assets and also having to spend massive cap space doesn't seem like the move the Sabres need to make right now.

We could have the talent in the pipeline already, Quinn could be a 40 goal scorer, JJ could be a 25 – 30 goal scorer, and both will be way cheaper then Robertson for quite some time and we don't have to give up assets and use our cap space.

Now I wouldn't mind just taking Jamie Benn off their hands and they give us a 1st round pick and maybe more for doing it and then they can just sign Robertson themselves. I think we can manage the cap space for 3 years, Robertson would be a 7 year commitment at least so ya.

  11. The kid is a good player and is still very young. I imagine all 31 teams are at least entertaining the idea. Would be a hell of a trade if Adams can pull it off. Hopefully we don't trade away too much if the move is made.

  12. I heard about this 2 days ago and I have been waiting for Roam Hockey take on it since I read it. We need the white board and some trade offers for Robertson. Also would you rather trade or sign him to an offer sheet?

  13. Dallas won't take one for one. It's gonna take something like Cozens, Pieterka and a first rounder……..if it's gonna be one of their two big contracts, take Benn and get Dallas to eat some of the contract……that I could see happening…….but they are still gonna want a Cozens and a first rounder…….this Robertson is gonna be a stud franchise player……make it happen Adams

  14. It's all about the cap space, I guess. Dallas would be insane to trade this guy. Buffalo has to pay big time and that means giving up young players or prospects they don't want to give up. Buffalo are better of getting Nick Robertson because he won't cost too much.

  15. Dallas need cap. I would try to entice them with mittlestadt and jokiharju with either a top prospect or some picks added on. I have no idea if this is even close to value but I'd be all for trading
    Mittlestadt
    Jokiharju
    Portillo
    Ostlund / 2 2nds

  16. I'd like us to stick w/ what we've already got & see how things play out…

  17. If you can get him with him agreeing to sign long-term for a good price, jump all over it. No way I'm agreeing to take on Seguin's deal. I'd maybe consider Benn if they retain like 50%. You mention Heiskanen, but I can't see them parting with him. He's a guy you build your blue line around. Can't get sloppy with the cap space when we have a young core we're gonna have to pay down the road and like you said, Robertson isn't coming cheap.

  18. Personally, you just got all these first rounders and are building a great pipeline for your future. Stick to the plan. What if Robertson is asking for BIG money like 9-9.5 mil? Let’s not rock the boat and get a flashy name when the culture is the most important aspect to our team’s growth.

  19. Hay R .H bends again or going nowhere they will not waive that no movement clause number two Sabers will probably have to take on Anton houdoban's contract

  20. Jamie Ben and Tyler Seguin are not going anywhere you're going to run their contracts out in Dallas Dallas might give away Anton hood open erratic vaccine the deal go stars go hey let's go Buffalo to

  21. it really comes down to what they expect to get back.. I'm not adverse to getting this player in general but the kids we ship back could change my mind quickly.. no Quinn, or Peterka, or Savoie or Levi or 5 or 6 others. Then again, Middlestadt and another I could do… Casey might just do well to change teams… but the return is a big game changer for me.

  22. Trading Dylan is like cutting the heart out of the squad. The rest would feel lied to. Ask "me next?" At that point, trade 'em all for a bunch of losers with big contracts, make the playoffs, get swept in the first round, sell the team, move it to Reno. Some fans have been losing so long, they can't recognize what a winning build looks like. I get it. Dahls took Dylan home to his family, to his friends, his hangouts. It's not just a team. It's a family. You don't sell family for glitter…

  23. I love Jason Robertson. If I’m not mistaken he scored 2 goals in a game against us last year. If he signs for around 8 million/6 years, I’d be all for it. For 9 million a year it’s too much. A package of Mittlestadt/Olafsson/Rosen/1st or 2nd rounder with us retaining some salary would hopefully get it done.
