On a 1 year deal if he plays like he can they will still be stuck with Murray and still in cap trouble to resign him next year.

no Toronto goalie will ever shock the world .only as good as your defense and the leafs defence is like real bad.
Leaf fans always excited for a new goalie. Failure will continue to happen. You will want to trade him as an excuse for losing. Or just let him walk, like matthews will do. Then he will go win the cup with another franchise. All or nothing series will start with. “We failed again for 3rd year in a row on this show.”

Absolutely love Ace’s comment. LOL Leafs get two floundering goaltenders to replace their emerging starter … and I can’t see how there would be anything other than sheer panic in Leafs Nation. lol The team may in fact break their streak of first round exits … by missing the playoffs altogether.
Up against the Russian goalies in Florida, Boston's deep D with Bergeron in Selke form, he will be in tough. However I agree this is his big chance to elevate to a top tier goaltender. The way the defence plays in front of him , the coaching Sheldon Keefe provides, and front line production will be just as important. Good luck leafs, let's be ready to bud this spring.

With the Leafs overhauling their goalie coaching system in the offseason, and investing a lot of money into researching the best coaches, it’s going to be really interesting to see what comes out of Murray/Samsonov.
