Ken Holland set this team back for years and Yzerman has done a tremendous job completely turning over the roster and all of the horrible contracts on aging players. We are in a great position going forward. I believe Danny Dekeyser is a FA after this season and I believe he is the last bad contract that will most likely be shed from the Holland Regime. Excited for the future!

I can’t stress how great this new real defensive unit will change everything. I’m saying we are gonna push for a playoff birth. Call me crazy but defense wins games. Now we have one. Sieder is a game changer!
They have a pretty favorable early schedule… Tampa, Vancouver, MTL, Chicago, FLA, Washington, Toronto … ummm 🤔 what park of that is easy again ?

Been a Wings fan since I was a little girl, about 50 years. Came across this video. Nice visuals, he's knowledgeable, great memorabilia on the walls and as side entertainment you get to see what his cats are up to.
Soderblom has been described as making bone crushing hits with an offensive potential. I like it.
Nielson's contract was bought out and I still wish Stevie would get Dekeyser out and let the kids play.
We're a much better team this year but in a stacked division so I can see us finishing 7th and hopefully getting lucky in the draft next year.
Future is looking good and Stevie is knocking it outta the park getting this team back to respectability.

My biggest worry for this team was what you touched on early in this: "He's gotta stay healthy". Too many of the key young players keep getting injured. I suspect that's part of why they signed Witkowski, but Smith has a well-established ability to take on pretty much anyone in order to protect his team mates.
Everyone underestimates veleno. He's going to surprise a lot of people this year.
Having Hakan Anderson as the head scout for Europe helps. Picking Seider is just one of many super scouting from Hakan. There will be a new cup win within 5-10 yrs.

Vrana has been hurt and still set to miss more time. Lucas Raymond, Moritz Seider, and Alex Nedeljkovic are all being mentioned in the Calder talk. Lucas is obviously in the lead, but Seider is getting heavy talk at this time.
It’s all going according to the Yzerplan. Time to honor Feddy, retire 91. Arguably one of the most beautiful skaters to ever suit up, and Detroit had guys like Coffey who could fly in their day. Sergei played better defense than half the league and was a legend. Loved that documentary on how Detroit snuck in the Russian 5 and then how their ‘02 team had 14 future HoFs, including a fave in Lucky, Shanny and Igor.
