Yes because we can believe what the CBC reports. What a joke
My mother in law suffered at the hands of those residential schools. These law suits were ongoing on in the 90s when I lived in Canada, and nothing has been done but a federal holiday.
At that time, there were a bunch of 60 and 70-year-old native Americans waiting for their payout.
A few of them who were extremely ill, in hospice Care managed to get a few dollars just months before they died, but the rest did not.
The problem is all the lawyers are making money off of it – it's been in court so long the only people benefiting are barristers and judges.
My mother in law died before she got her share- like many.
And she died waiting 6 years for the Canadian government to remove her cancer – it was deemed "elective surgery." They kept bumping her surgery time for cash paying patients
They just kept throwing these residential school kids in the trash – hoping they're dying off.
Unfortunately, I lived in that culture for a few years and when you see it behind the scenes it's incredible how humans treat other humans like that
As a parent of multiracial children – I highly recommend that no one checks off any minority boxes on their census.
Just stay vanilla and they'll leave you alone.
Just like hockey, put your gear on get out there and produce, nobody cares what skin color you have where you come from or what language you speak
It's all equal on the ice
