DG des Canadiens : le jeu de pré-saison de Slafkovsky a été « un peu décevant »

Je suis sûr que cela sera pris très raisonnablement par la base de fans

the full comment is much less alarming than the headline.

Glad that Hughes said it. When we fans say it it’s an overreaction

We are never making it out of the hood

    **Full context**

“I thought his two exhibition games were a little underwhelming for him, but the two rookie games in Buffalo, he was great, »

« The two scrimmages here with our team, I think he led all our players in scoring chances by a pretty decent margin. So he’s been very good in parts, there’s obviously some inconsistency on how that translates into exhibition games. »

« We’ve got to do what’s right for him. If we do what we said when we drafted him – we weren’t looking for the best 18-year-old, we were looking for the best NHL player down the road – and I don’t think we do that without making the best decision for him. Whether it’s the popular decision or not, we’re going to do what we believe is right. »

like Kent said, they chose Slaf because they thought he would be the best player down the road. They knew he was a project player, whether we like it or not. And I agree that Slaf showed well in the rookie games but couldn’t translate that to preseason games, AHL might do him some good so he can adapt a bit more.

If only fans could say it without being crucified 😂

I would have no problem with him starting, or even playing the entire season in the AHL, if it meant he was developed into a future all-star player.

    It’s only a click-bait headline smh

Beck and Mesar is giving Hughes a way longer runway than he would have vis a vis public support. It’s way easier right now for fans to accept sending Slaf to Laval, and that’s good. Hughes won’t feel pressured as much to keep him in the Show.

Also, Laval games this season will be on another level. Mysak. Slaf. At least 2 of Xhekaj, Barron and Norlinder. Possible full season for Primeau.

Just needs a little superior propane.

Caufield spent two years developing post draft and look at the NHL player we have now. For slaf to become the best NHLer he can be, we need to take the long short way not the short long way.

    Fucking clickbait smh

I heard the interview on Spotify… A lot less alarming than the media is making sound
