Wish you would do a video on the Jason Robertson situation. I’m a stars fan and haven’t heard a whole lot about it and am getting very worried and a bit angry.
I was waiting for you to say Paul Reinhart when you were talking about players who played both offense & defense.
Others who played both defense & forward that I thought of were Sergei Federov, Sami Kapanen, Mark Howe, Marty McSorely, Larry Playfair, and Phil Bourque.
Clearly they're trying to recreate Makar with Marner. Makes perfect sense when you think about it.
Ron Greschner also played some forward as well.
Marner as the Blueline forward on the PP would be lethal

If Weegar signs an extension, i think they can afford to move out a dmen for a forward
Fedorov, Ron Greschner and Jimmy Roberts all played both , especially Roberts. Red Kelly was probably the best example- a star on defense and forward.

I think Mark Streit also played both forward and defense with Montreal. On the Islanders, he only played defense. Two hall-of-famers made the switch full time. Mark Howe started as a left wing then became a defenseman. Red Kelly went the other way around, starting as a defenseman and becoming a center. I wonder if we'll ever see that again with players of that stature.

THG in a Red Wings jersey trying to remember great forwards that also could play as a defencemen… "Someone escaping me here"… SERGEI FEDOROV! Scotty Bowman used him as a dman for several parts of seasons in the early 90s, Scotty always said that if he would leave him on the d for a full season he would have been a legit Norris Trophy candidate, that's how good Sergei's overall two way game and skating was where he was as crisp in forward strides as he was backwards. The guy could do it all!
Defenseman Tommy Albelin played forward at times for NJ back in the day. Today on NJ Mason Geersten is still listed as a Defenseman on the roster yet has played forward exclusively the past 2 season.
It's been said before but if Weegar signs long term, that's a coup on that trade. Both Weegar and Huberdau look great so far.
