  1. Just say “Si-monn” there is no “e” at the end. Sounds like you’re saying Simone Edvinsson.

  2. personally, I would rather see seider hronek. it allows hronek to not have to be the best defenseman on his line (which i feel would do wonders for hronek) That way we could have edvinsson on the second line to provide depth in pairings, and more effectively makes the d line better. You could pair edvinsson with a better mentor player to help development anyhow.

  3. Seider and Hronek
    Free Agent and Edvinsson
Lindstrom and Staal (assuming he re-signs).

Seider can help cover Hronek's defensive lapses and Hronek can help bolster Seider's offensive game.

Edvinsson isn't ready for top pair in my opinion and shouldn't be forced to play top line unless he's ready like Seider was and putting Edvinsson on the 2nd pair gives him less skilled competition but not too easy. If the Wings add a true top 4D in free agency this offseason that would really help the top two pairs not have as much pressure.

Lindstrom and Staal makes a true shutdown pair that is cheap and can be swapped if a prospect takes that next step like Wallinder or McIsaac.

  4. I know people want Simon and Moe on the first line but I think Wallmen and Sider would play off each other really well, with Simon and Hronek on the second would balance out the defence really well

  5. Longterm, this D Corps is looking incredible: Edvinsson-Seider, Wallinder-Hronek, Johansson-Lindstrom. And if one of those don’t work out they have Cotton, Sebrango, Buium, Toumisto, etc. still in the pipeline.

  6. Wallinder is a surprise, he was labeled a project with awareness on the ice with more than a few things to work on with passing, aim with the puck, and ability to eliminate space between him and the puck carrier. He upped his play and made a point tally that even Yzerman probably did not expect.

  7. I don’t care who plays with Seider as long as it’s a legit top pair defenseman not someone he carries like dekeyser or staal.

  8. Just wanted to say I love and appreciate all your red wings videos. And ya some videos on some other prospects like Soderblom, Neiderbach, Johansson, Pontus Andreasson and others would be awesome!

  9. If we can bring in Filip Forsberg to go along with these Euro studs on defense, it might help move the rebuild along quicker. Great job Lego!! Could he be the addition that moves us forward like Ivan Rodriguez did for the Tigers in 2004?

  10. If Edvinsson makes the squad out of camp this may be the last time Yzerman picks in the top 10 for the foreseeable future.. and that's okay.

  11. The wings need a top 4 d in free agency or trade and Edvinsson to make the jump. Hronek need to improve his d. Stall should me back for there pairing

  12. I think Johansson makes the Wings to start next season, too. Draper was talking him up while in Sweden the other day.

  13. Good but not unexpected news about Edvinsson. It's going to be interesting to see where he's deployed next season – I think he's going to be given the chance to make the team out of camp but they could just as easily loan him back to Frolunda for another season as he can be further mentored by Kronwall and Lidstrom. Wallinder has been a very pleasant surprise, we passed over a number of talented forwards to draft him but he has obviously been something more of a slow burner, again you can suspect the influence of Detroit's men in Sweden with his sudden development which is why there should be no surprise when further Swedish prospects arrive in this coming draft.

  14. I don't know what y'all think, but Sundqvist has been great since coming over in the Leddy deal. The fact that he came plus a 2nd rounder is amazing. Yzerman has owned the Blues going on 3 decades now.

  15. Wallinder had the highest time on ice for Rögle in their big semi final win 5-1 vs Albert Johanssons Färjestad.
    Färjestad leads series 3-2.

Wallinder is arguably Rögles no.1 defenseman as of right now in the playoffs. A treat for the eye.

  16. Man I know us wings fans don't have room to talk because we've watched blow out after blow out this year, but NJ looked rough.

  17. Because the defense is so poor right now in Detroit, Edvinsson (I think) should have an inside track to make the team out of camp next year. Regardless, excited to see him across the pond come the fall.

  18. You may talk all you want about the red wings! The prospects coming up make the future so bright there. When Steve Y started playing, there was hope, but it also had little more than him at the timethe tank was empty except good enforcers to protect him. Trades and insane drafting of a Russian made that hope into a reality. It is just pure fun to watch and waiting for the next round of rookies to start playing.

  19. Edvinson will gain 10 to 15 in the next 2 years easy. He is so young rn that putting on weight is probably pretty difficult. Think about this tho, wings 3rd line could be Rasmussen, sodorblom, and sunqvist…a line with an average height of 6ft 5in and an average weight of about 225lbs!
