#EdmontonOilers #Oilers #NilsLundkvist #NewYorkRangers #OilersRumors

Three team trade I'd like to propose.
After looking at cap friendly, there's not much wiggle room on any of these teams… however.
To Edmonton from NYI
Matt Martin. 2 year at 1.5M
Scott Mayfield. 1 Year at 1.45M
2023 4th Round Draft Pick
To NYI from Edmonton
Tyson Barrie. 2 years at 4.5M
2023 7th, 2024 6th Round Picks
To NYR From Edmonton
Warren Foegele. 2 years at 2.75M
2023 2nd, 2023 4th (NYI), 2024 6th Round Draft Picks.
To Edmonton From NYR
Ryan Reaves. 1 year at 1.75M
Nils Lundkvist 2 years at 925K
2025 6th Round Draft Pick
Salary out is 7.25 Million, Salary in is 5.375 Million.
Hear is my reasoning.
Martin and Reaves both bring toughness and leadership to the 4th line and do not need to play every game.
Shore, Ryan and Janmark are all on expiring deals and depending on performance, and prospect growth may not come back.
Sign McLeod to a two year Bridge for 1.25.
Allow Holloway to prove himself in a 10 game stint, another year in the AHL will not hurt him. If he makes the team, we can trade and expiring UFA (Shore) and rotate healthy Scrathes depending on performance/needs. (Janmark,Ryan,Reaves,Martin)
I want to See Bourgault spend a full season in the AHL.
Mayfield is a shutdown D man to insulate Broberg with on the 3rd pair.
Lundkvist can spend a year in Bakersfield and then have a shot in Edmonton next year.
All three teams are up against the cap after the transaction, but also are all benefited.
Late 1st round pick. Last season was his first in North America, and was split between the NHL and AHL. He has 2 more seasons on his entry level contract, so I'd look at him as more of a maturing prospect.
The Oilers' right shot RD right now comprises of Ceci, Barrie, Bouchard on the roster, and Desharnais, Kemp and Kesselring on the farm. Kulak and Koekkoek are listed as left shots who play both sides. Kulak is likely the 2LD, whereas Koekkoek is not guaranteed to ready to play in October.
With 25 games of experience Lundkvist would be considered a tweener prospect like Niemelainen. If we could ger him plus a 3rd round pick for Barrie, that would solve the Oilers cap issues for this season, but there would be the risk of having a very inexperienced D core. Perhaps Woodcroft could play Desharnais when he needs size and Lundkvist when they play faster smaller teams.
If the trade is for Puljujarvi (since it seems that the player wants a change of scenery), I'd expect more back. Perhaps Lundkvist and a 2nd round pick. That would mean that in addition to getting McLeod signed, the team would need another forward or two (preferably a RW). Maybe Rodrigues IS coming to EDM on a PTO. Otherwise Sonny Milano? Galchenyuk? Chaisson?
As A Rangers Fan, If I Were Drury, I Would Want Pulvy. I'd rather give A Package For A Couple Of Prospect Players Edmonton Doesn't Need, To Get A Shot At The Stanley Cup
Drury isn't The Fisherman (Gorton – LOL). Drury Will Make Lundkvist Wait
Do you think Kravstov Swallowed His Pride for nothing. You either do things Drury's Way or you're screwed
Who would you give us either way (Package Or One For One)? I'm very interested in your view
If you don't want be a New York Ranger, go fucking pound sand. We don't want you.
It's pronounced "k"Vist"! Not "k'wist". Jesus, Edmonton fans SHOULD know a little bit more about Scandinavian pronunciation by now!🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
