Well Clay, I am definitely of the mind that we shouldn't be jumping to conclusions when we don't have all the facts. That said however, this organization doesn't exactly have a strong track record when it comes to broiling into a "palace of intrigue" as some members of the media have branded it. It's still early in this new regime's tenure, but one can't help but feel a little disheartened by such a bright mind like Rachel Doerrie departing the club so suddenly

Don't really care about off ice stuff or pre season games
Outside distractions are never a good thing but they shouldn't affect anything on the ice. I won't comment on Aquilini but it is odd that the grown children are now speaking up about abuse in their youth. As for Rachel maybe she realized hockey analytics wasn't for her?
Hughes struggled receiving passes on the right side. Other than that he looked good. OEL looks like he is also ready. Off ice is really none of our business.
Truth and reconciliation. If you want truth then the royal family (queen and Charles committed atrocious offenses of kidnapping children from a residential school in B.C. and doing God knows what to them. The reconciliation can happen after they are punished for their crimes. Or did you think Andrew was the only one (and what we know about him is just a fingernails worth of info). Free your minds and the truth will follow.

I think this firing is going to be a bit of a story. Her mom (who has a history of being catty in daughters defence) is stirring the pot on social media. Doerrie herself has a weird history of mouthing off and aggrandizing herself as the smart one among idiots. Likes a tweet critical of Aquilini. Implied Luke Hughes has poor character.
Honestly, seems a troublemaker who will stretch a story and her name appears to be mud in the league unless she spins something up out of this. So yeah somethings coming.
Doesn't bother me …chairs get shuffled constantly in most organizations. The bigger question is whether her absence will affect the on-ice product

i thought on the whole, team passing is good but shooting on goal leaves lots to be desired. as a metis i understand the need of survivors of residential schools to come to terms with the trauma, but i don't understand why it goes on so long. by now everyone knows what transpired in those schools. reconciliation comes from within. is the team going with their starting lineup or just some of them?
truth and reconciliation… if the abuse allegation is proven true, aquilini should go into counselling and give the canucks to the people he assaulted!
Honestly I just want hockey talk don't care about the political nonsense of the day . Am curious as to why Rachel was let go. As for the alligaitons against the team owner it's divorce bs and a non issue.
I know very little about Rachel Dorrie. Drama is often gossip under a different label. Not worth paying attention to .. usually reporters talk that stuff up, to create a crisis when there is none.
It's just a distraction for the Canucks to worry about this ok

I never understood the Rachel Doerrie hire. I understood Granato and Costonguay, Rachel seems to have an attitude and seemed to junior for the role. Maybe she will mature in time.
Miller needs different linemnates entirely. Pearson isn't top 6 talent anymore and Garland just doesn't do a whole lot besides skate really low to the ice honestly. I would rather have hoglander with Miller as he wins almost every board battle even when he is outnumbered. Hogs deserves to be in the top 9 once everyone is healthy
Hi Clay – first of all, great channel. Really like your content and commentary. Here is what I think: it was going to happen eventually. Just ask the New Jersey Devils. If you have ever read any of Rachel Doerrie's commentary (much of it which she has since deleted off social media), she really lacks maturity. For someone who has aspired to be the first female NHL GM, she sure isn't Emily Castogne or Cammi Granato. Not even close. Doerrie honestly needs to gain some maturity and grow up. It's one thing to be an immature poster and take potshots at Jim Benning or start ubstantiated rumours about JT Miller or EP 40, but then to expect to be taken seriously as part of a hockey operations staff is beyond me.

for me, we just have to see the facts about F.A. before making judgement. Pearson shouldn't be on the 1st line at all, and when Boeser and Mikheyev gets back from their injuries, he should be bumped down to the 3rd or 4th line. Put on waivers is also good if possible. Rathbone made some great passes, but needs to move the puck faster, as he got caught a couple of times. Just dumping the puck out of their end is better than giving it away. I would like to see Poolman, and Hughes, Myers, and OEL, and Dermott when he is healthy with Schenn, and Rathbone and Burroughs subbing in.

Personally I do not want to care too much about the drama that is happening, just as I would prefer not to have to pay attention to politics… but the problem is, the accusations against Aquilini can potentially lead to the sale of the team, and that is going to lead to some very uncertain times for everyone. Just as we thought Rutherford and Allvin are here and they should steer the ship right, if a new owner needs to come in, the new ownership may want their own people, and that can mean trouble for the team.
Rachel Doerrie's situation is very strange and unusual. So much rumours out there so I can't say what to make of any of it… I guess we will wait and see as I'm sure we will learn more later on.
