  1. Scheifele started at 18 in his first season in 2011. He didn’t play many games in the first and second year. He only started to be efficient on the faceoff dot in the 2017-2018 season. It’s a long process to learn everything in the nhl. Change of scenery with MSL, Vinny Lecavalier and others can help Kirby grow is game faster but he deserve time and be well isolated by others around when things are not going well to keep confidence up and less pressure to succced. Also, Dach was placed on the first or second line facing best opponents from other teams at a young age. We could say he was trown into a wolf cage without much help. Recipe for failure imo.

  2. You cant score goals or control the play unless you can win the faceoff… You younger hockey fans blow my mind…. You cannot control the game if you don't have possession of the puck….. Look, I'm not justifying the Dach trade or condemning it – I'm just telling you how the game works ….. Sorry, this is just an objective truth in hockey – you want to have the puck off the draw because you want to be the attacker – NOT the defender…..

Look man, I'm not trying to talk junk or anything but the lack of wisdom of some hockey fans blows my mind..

If your faceoff % is 35% – that is flipping terrible – you're NOT an asset to your team – you're a liability – you're giving your opponent the puck 66% of the time – allowing them to control the play…. What good is an offensive dynamo (which Dach is NOT) if you don't have the puck??? …

As far as the other stuff – yea the Hawks burnt it to the ground – it's over – but it was going to happen eventually….. I'm a big time Hawks fan and I knew this was going to end – I saw the Hawks win 3 Cups … What more could you ask for??? ……. Look, I just feel terrible for Toews and Kane because they made it clear they wanted to play here in Chicago for their entire careers – and that may not happen….. I don't think either one of them wants "out" but they know they're too old to participate in a rebuild – at least Toews …….

To be honest with you I could see Kane getting traded at the Trade Deadline for a super package and then resigning with the Hawks and doing it all over again … could you imagine what the Hawks could get if they traded Kane a couple of times???? — He'd be 38 with a whole new cast of superstars around him – and Kane is going to play until he's 43-45….. Look I could see it happening ….

  3. No guarantee that he is going to be ok. That's what they said about Kotkaniemi in years 2, 3. Poehling as well. Faceoff % might seem like an odd reason to trade someone but it has regressed, along with his point per game average. Hawks probably decided to cut their losses and trade him while he still has value. 13th overall pick (plus a 4th rounder) is a good return for a 3rd overall who has regressed in 3 years

  4. I feel Chicago traded him because they had problem with the AVG/year and duration of contract.. Why we haven’t signed him yet.. the man maybe asking a full contract without even proving anything

  5. I like Lego, but it's getting to the point where I don't want to watch, even at my usual 1.5x speed. It's so blatantly obvious he has word salad, while talking slow, just to reach 10mins for ad cents instead of adding real value. Yes, even at 1.5x speed, I feel it's getting to unwatchable territory.

  6. As a passionate Hawks fan I can tell you with 100% certainty they did not get rid of him solely because he’s bad at the dot..🤦‍♂️ While understanding he’s still young, he simply did not impress with the amount of ice-time given to him. PP, PK, top 6, OT opportunities, offensively, defensively, face-offs. All of it was very lack-luster and borderline regressive at times.

  7. Well, for a Center winning faceoffs is critical. My concern is that the Hawks determined Dach has an issue so they dumped him on an unsuspecting team while he still had value before everyone realized that he has a problem. What is Dach's issue? I'm not 100% sure but I think it is attitude related and that he might be somewhat uncoachable. i.e. it's blatantly obvious Dach's faceoff % is crap and that he must work on his faceoffs, but what if he disagrees and/or doesn't feel like it and won't?

  8. If I hadn't watched this video I never would have known that Chicago traded Bobby Hull for John Ferguson. Unbelievable.

  9. The idea that people think the blackhawks guy took in the dach deal is ridiculous he was a complete bust in Chicago So to recoup a first round pick and other assets for Kirby dock was a major win for the blackhawks good luck for him and Montreal you're gonna need it because you're gonna be hurt or ineffective enjoy Yes I have more faith in Colton Dach than I do Kirby

  10. Yeah, this is stupid. Plenty of NHL players are listed as C/LW or C/RW (or the rare C/LW/RW) because they have different roles depending on the situation. Montreal currently has like, 5 centers (and I don't buy for a SECOND that they will end up trading Dvorak in the near future – he's like a multi-tool, at minimum really good at most aspects of the game,* but in the current NHL environment, he's just not a piece that teams are going to pay a premium to acquire…he's worth more to the Habs than the ~3rd-round pick he'll go for). Dach doesn't need to be great at faceoffs. Dvorak is amazing at them, and Suzuki, Monahan and Evans are all around 50%.

I agree with D'Amico – play him on a line with Mohanan on his LW, and let each player take their strong-side faceoffs. Dach would be the center on the line, because he excels at all of the other aspects of the position, and Monahan (who's had some issues recently as a center) can simplify his game on the wing and maybe put up another 20+ goal season (he actually has two 30+ -goal seasons, one of which was combined with enough assists to give him 82 points in 78 games). Monahan is 28 in October (which is still quite young), and he's playing for his next contract. If he stays healthy, this could be a comeback season for him. He's a really good goalscorer, and Dach is basically a pass-first power forward – they should complement each other really well.

*He wins faceoffs [in fact, he was the 11th-best faceoff man in the LEAGUE last season (minimum 500 F/Os taken), with a success rate similar to guys like O'Reilly, Kopitar and Barkov ], plays the powerplay (second unit), kills penalties, is defensively responsible, hits and blocks shots, and most importantly, he SCORES GOALS at a surprising rate, considering his usage. He is well worth $4.45 million AAV.

  11. Chicago traded Dach because he is a plug.People thought Toffoli Anderson Hoffman would make an impact but really didn't do much.Sadly many Habs fans are fanatics and think their second line players Cole/Suzuki are first line elite players.
The only team the Habs will beat in their side is Philadelphia but who knows just maybe Buffalo doesn't improve for some unknown reason. They should also beat Chicago/Seattle and Arizona so in reality the Habs will beat 4 teams which should land them another shot at the first round pick. The habs could do alright getting the 2 or 3 pick and get the CDN kid or the Russian kid but i just don't see them getting lucky to get Bedard.
I repeat Dach is a third line player so WHY should I care?21 years old is NOT an excuse i look at his stint of 3 years on the Saskatoon Blades he did NOT ever look like an elite player and by year three his numbers are imo weak and gives a better tale of what to expect which is very little.

  12. Hope Dach does better in MTL. As a Hawks fan, I was very disappointed in his play for such a high pick. Soft, lackadaisical and not a good finisher.

  13. When discussing Black Hawks last year S Bowman singled out Dach as THE guy for Chicago, hence Scottie gives the LAME reasoning for the inexplicable trade 🏒🏒🏒🥳🥳🥳

  14. it was all about Tanking, classless and stupid Tanking, that is the reason the got rid of Hagel, DeBrincat, & Dach, & let Strome, & Kubalik go for nothing. As for Dach here are some Centers production after playing their 1st 152 NHL Games To Compare to Dach:
    Kirby Dach 19G 40A 59P
    Joe Thorton 22G 39A 61P
    Alexander Barkov 33G 35A 68P
    Ryan O'Reilly 21G 30A 51P
    Henrik Sedin 20G 37A 57P
    Ryan Kesler 17G 23A 40P
    J.T. Miller 23G 28A 51P
    Ryan Johansen 30G 36A 66P
    Jason Allison 8G 27A 35P
    Keith Primeau 22G 34A 56P

Also Power Forwards often take time to develop for example Doan played his 19, 20, & 21 Year season like Dach did; here is the comparison.

    Doan Dach
    Age GP G A P – Age GP G A P
    19 74 7 10 17 – 19 64 8 15 23
    20 63 4 8 12 – 20 18 2 8 10
    21 33 5 6 11 – 21 70 9 17 26
    Total 170 16 24 40 – Total 152 19 40 59
