  1. Fleury is one of my all time favorites to watch. His courage and recklessness with his body were amazing. I edited this because I made a comment about worrying about CTE, then I looked him up and he seems more than fine. Dude is a warrior.

  2. Hakan Loob had a great career back in Farjestad in Sweden, playing until -97. All time scoring leader in Swedish Hockey League and part of the -94 Olympic gold team of Sweden.

  3. idk if you’re done a video like this before, but you should make a video on the ‘random’ 50 goal scorers. like someone who hit 50 goals once and never came close to it again.

  4. I live in Calgary and I have been use to mediocrity from this team. Since the cup win, more often than not, they have been a team that makes the playoffs and loses in the first round or when they do miss the playoffs it's that zone that they are not good enough to make the playoffs but not bad enough for high draft picks

  5. Shame Atlanta never had a stable ownership group, because Atlanta is a big market and the most important in the South. NHL needs a presence there, not in Nashville and especially not in Raleigh. Big markets, people. Thats what the NBA does. Gotta be in big markets if you want to actually truly grow the game instead of relying on the increase in population like the NHL has been doing.

  6. Hopefully the building issue doesn't become a huge mess. It seems like the building issue always gets held over the heads of the local market no matter what the true threat really is.

  7. 1989 Cup Champs defense were amazing 2)MacInnis 4)MacCrimmon 5)Murzyn 6)Nattress 20)Suter 34)Macoun 55)Ramage and with Mikey Vernon in net 🔥

  8. More like history of the oilers little brother franchise BWAHAHAHAH! The flames have never had an elite player on their team all they have is Elias Lindhomosexual Christina Transev Mikka Trashersoff Jerome Niginla Hakan Noob Nazim Alluh Akbar Kadri, Johnny Gaydrew, Jakob Marksbum, Daniel Vlassar, Joni Whore Tio, mMilan Leech, Kevin Cooney, Mark Gayordano, and Rasmus Gayandarson

  9. Minor error on the most recent goal, it was actually scored by Blake Coleman who tied the game at 5-5 in game 5, but due to Gary Bettman rule example number 32351, this time referencing his want to guarantee a McDavid/MacKinnon west final, it was ruled 'no goal' despite the fact that 'stopping' is not the same as 'kicking'. Just ribbin the league Shannon, thanks for the Flames video!

  10. During the the 89 Cup win it was the "Olympic Saddledome" from the time of building until first sponsorship as the "Canadian Airlines Saddledome" in the mid 90s "Pengrowth Saddledome" in 2000 then the "Scotiabank Saddledome" in 2010-present. This year looks promising to FINALLY iron out a deal for a new arena in Calgary 🤞😅

  11. The newly elected mayor of Calgary decided to mess with the already in place contract for a new building . Flames finally had enough and walked away . Now the mayor is trying to get it back on track . I'm hoping the Flames just build the arena on their own and leave the city out of it .

  12. Tim Hunter was fearless remember him fighting Seminko 3 times in Edmonton getting destroyed 3 times but was totally fearless wouldn't back down from nobody

  13. The first Canadian city to be gifted an NHL team by Atlanta. Not that they’ve done much better, they would’ve folded without the 04-05 lockout & wasted iginla’s career.

  14. I became a Flames fan because of Joey Mullen, but stayed one after Mullen was gone because I thought it was fun rooting for a team in a place where they had zero fans. That particular Flames jersey is the ugliest they ever had, so of course it's the one they choose to be a third jersey. I guess people think it's cute and funny to make jerseys like that and the Islanders fisherman the new "3rd's".

That year Guy Chouinard scored 50, both he and Bob MacMillan had totals way beyond anything they ever did before or after. It was weird. If it happened nowadays, everyone would be shouting "steroids". But it was just 70's hockey. But when I think of the Atlanta days, as someone old enough to remember the Atlanta Flames, I think of two things: they were a tough, tough team. Cliff Fletcher was following the Flyers' model for success. Second was the two goalies, Myre & Bouchard, who were both very good. An unusually good goalie combo for a team just starting out. But the team sucked in the playoffs, a tradition they brought with them to Calgary.

  15. Calgary probably would’ve had 3 or 4 Stanley Cups in the 1980’s if they weren’t under the thumb of the greatest hockey team ever being 2 hours north.

  16. The rumour was that Hull couldn’t hit the net in Calgary and he just worked his ass off after he got traded

  17. As a Swede, having Kent Nilsson being the all times p/gp leader makes me proud. I also remember watching Miikka in net for "my" team in Sweden (AIK) before he went over to the NHL – he was one of the best goalies I've seen live. I really should cheer for CGY, but I don't hehe

  18. On the subject of the NHL Calgary Flames, would you consider doing a career video on Jim Peplinski? If you don't count the abbreviated (by his own choice) NHL career of Hakan Loob, Peplinski was the best player to be a career Flame.

  19. My belief is that Calgary will overcome Edmonton in the 2023 playoffs, and face Colorado for the division final.

Edmonton has not done enough to overcome their superstar dominated lineup, especially on defence and in goal.

  20. Moi, je parle francais. For those who do not … Mercredi means Wednesday in French.
