@Avalanche du Colorado

1. Why would the Oilers sign Kane to a big deal when he arguably has more controversy around him than even Kadri? Kadri might get in trouble on the ice, but atleast he doesn't have ongoing rape investigations against him. Not only that but he lost multiple games for the Oilers this series because he kept gooning out and getting thrown into the box, then goes and gets suspended for the elimination game when his team needed him the most.

  2. Kadri wrote a reply to a post about him most likely not returning for the finals and he said “ya we’ll see”.

It seems like he’s determined to play. Broke his thumb on his right hand and he’s a left handed shot so it might not affect him that much

  3. Gunna miss lehky in montreal so much he lives for playoff hockey always been so clutch at the right time go get that cup lehky Montreal and it’s fans are rooting for you❤️❤️❤️❤️

  4. I think that the oilers are going to miss the playoff next year, I think their front office sees this as a win for them and they don't make adjustments to their depth chart.

  5. AVS IN 4 ….just like I've been saying since game 1 ….check the comments .
This guy picked the Oilers lol .

  6. Rangers fan here hopefully we can finish of Tampa and face the beast that is Colorado. Rangers have been up to the challenge and have been the underdogs for most of these playoffs. Bring it on Avalanche.

  7. Could the Oilers buy out Smith’s contract? When you buy out a contract, does the salary still count towards the cap or is it removed from the books?

  8. For the Oilers fans saying that the refs were favoring the Avs, that's simply not a valid argument. For every call you think was missed on the Avs, there's at least one if not two that were missed on the Oilers. For a fact, two of the goals that the oilers scored last night were on breakaways which were created from penalties that should have been called, including a slash on Aube-Kubel that snapped his stick in half. That being said, I guess it doesn't really matter because we came away with the W. Go Avs!!

  9. Edmonton needs better goal-tending and scoring depth. Colorado is a machine though. Results don't tell the whole story but great series.

  10. Your content is great you know the game and have great insight! Huge AVs fan finally someone that gives them there due. If you listened to the TNT broadcast you would have thought the Oilers just swept us! Keep it up I hope you are going all the way through the cup Finals. Go AvS the next series is going to be tough!

  11. Full marks for the Avs, by far the better team. However, the officiating was an absolute embarrassment to the game of hockey. It didn't affect the outcome, but it did affect the margin in the series. That call against Ryan with <6 minutes left in the 3rd was just awful. Worst call I've seen since Saad got a coincidental penalty for being mugged, costing Chicago a goal against Detroit in a game 7 in 2013, this one might have been even worse. I know the refs don't score goals, but this just makes everyone look bad. Avs didn't need the help from the refs. Oilers could have killed the penalties better. And the game is better when the refs aren't noticeable.

  12. Great season overall. I just hope Jay "Mike Smith played a great game tonight" Woodcroft learned something from this series 👍

  13. Congratulations to the AVS as an oiler fan I knew it was gonna be tough to win I thought our special teams n goaltending was better. Being unbiased the refing was awful throughout this series. You punch your ticket to final by playing mistake free hockey and our boys just could not do it, this team went as far as it could we shoulda n coulda won one or two we did have the lead twice. Coaching mistakes, McDavid pressing when we have lead led to McKinnon goal. Nurses positioning is awful why so close to Smith? Coulda blocked that shot if he was 3 feet further out. I felt we made these same mistakes against la n Calgary but Colorado had the skill to make us pay. Lack of depth n no bona fide number 1 d-man a guy to play in every situation. I felt Colorado was beatable not a great face-off team, back up goalie in, no big physical guys. But too much pujarvu n nurse. The future does look bright, the sweep does sting.

  14. It’s better than most national media, but you aren’t pronouncing Francouz quite right. You are correct with the soft C, but the Z is not silent, it sounds like an S. Just helping you out for future reference.

  15. Better team advanced but Colorado still has some problems, regular defensive breakdowns, and of the 3 teams left they have a good goalie but he lags behind Igor and vasi. They also lucked into an easier path blues (after starting goalie got hurt) preds and oilers are not exactly defensive powers this year. I expect a good final but temper the emotions folks Colorado will have to tighten up problems to hoist the cup.

  16. The Avs were just the better team..what a gem fell in their laps when they got Makar at 4th overall. He might be the one player I'd take over McDavid. Even after Kemper and then Kadri went out they just kept coming. Absolutely dominated the Oilers in every game. They're going to be very hard to beat.

  17. Hard to be chapped at the oilers. they fought hard, never gave up and probably woulda done well against the blues.. but that Avs team is beast.

    Also klefbom should be back.

  18. been waitin for this since the sakic forsberg claude lemieux days battlin the redwings, avs have rebuilt.. finally. Now the lightning or rangers are in trouble, even if its tampa the defending champs its gonna be over in 5 maybe 4. Cant wait.

  19. The Avalanche played an elite level goaltender for 2.15 games so far this postseason. They will struggle against the Lightning because of their superior defense and amazing elite goalie.

I like to pretend in my head that Binnington wasn't injured in game 3…. I have no doubts that to would be Perron Vs. Maroon.

  20. Turns out I was wrong. Avs have lost two games in three series. That’s pretty rad.

  21. Mcdavid also did a lot better than I expected. I was actually expecting them to get worked worse than that.

  22. Thanks for the breakdown.. one thing ive noticed and I'm unsure how true it is but the avs always seem to have one guy high on the breakouts, and 4 players are then talked with moving the puck between them to exit the zone. Am I correct and if so do they have roles in terms of specific guys in the zone and a specific player going long??

  23. Smith was not terrible he just needed to not be shotgunned 40 times a game

  24. On the possible high stick, I read that if it's not on a goal, the limit is shoulder height so Lekhonen was fine because Smith stopped the initial attempt… Can somebody confirm this?

  25. Context Alert. McDavid just made the WCF 2 years earlier than MacKinnon

  26. I hope we see an Avalanche dynasty, this team has the depth and talent to do this for years to come! The best teams of all time learn to adapt regardless of the situation. CONGRATS AVALANCHE! Can't to see you guys raise the cup!

  27. Hats off to the Avalanche. Well done Oilers! Thumbs down… Execs & tweeters for Sportsnet and Toronto Sports Network. Other than a few reporters, is there classy mouthpiece in either organization.
