  1. It was announced a college student will assist in making the Flyers pick at #5, so it sounds like they have decided on making the pick. I’d expect them to select Cutter Gauthier.

  2. If I were the Devils, and Slafkovsky is gone. I would offer the number 2, Pavel Zacha and Arseni Gritsyuk or Shakir Mukhamadullin.

  3. I feel like DeBrincat should get more then just 5th. Best case scenario is 5th overall player becomes as good as Cat. Cat is 24 and has scored 41 goals twice. Probably can score 50. The 5th pick in a not super seep draft seems like a very light payment for that claiber of player.

  4. I hate to say it but New Jersey is the only option for the hawks go for that high pick then maybe include Murphy to New Jersey and the hawks could get a third party involved also but that’s unlikely

  5. If that's all it's gonna take the Devils better trade the 2nd overall for him now but I heard the Hawks want more than just picks they want this first, next year's, a high end prospect and a proven NHLer

  6. I’m thinking zacha and the 2nd overall to bring him to the devils. Maybe throw in another prospect possibly…

  7. Hawks fan here I'm a huge debrincat fan and right now I really don't even want to consider the 5th round pick. top 3 for me so either NJ devils 2nd or Arizonas I heard philly offered the 5th overall 2023 1st round pick Bobby Brink and Morgan frost

  8. As a Flyers fan I would move Provorov if Gaudreau or DeBrincat could be obtained. I also think Patrick Kane could be a decent addition. Danny Briere was no slouch.

  9. Don't like it from the Flyers point of view because he isn't signed long term and the Flyers are many players away from contending. One guy like DeBrincat will not make them a good team. They should be in complete rebuild mode and they should hang on to the 5th and other young prospects. I think they are two years away from a trade like this making any sense.

  10. flyers don't have the package to trade for the cat imo (brink or frost ain't cutting it). it's going to cost FOUR 1st round caliber of assets.

  11. The Blackhawks don't need to trade DeBrincat. They have plenty of money and cap space for him. He is 24 and a two time 40+ goal scorer. To suggest the #5 overall somehow changes their ask price is just goofball thinking. If you want Cat, you are going to have to pry him away. The Hawks are listening, not shopping. To clarify, Friedman said the Hawks already turned down a high pick this year, a future first rounder and a prospect. Some team will have to do better than that or they should just keep him. No, you are not getting a bargain. Yes, you will give up at least a couple assets you don't want to.

  12. I want to see Debrincat end up in ottawa to play alongside stutzle. A great goal scorer and an up incoming star playmaker. You can’t go wrong with that!

  13. There is no way. Chicago is asking dor something like 3 first rounders basically. Philly doesn't even have the cap space to sign Debrincat

  14. Debrincat is owed 9m on his next qualifying offer. No one that trades for him is getting any deal when his current contract is up. An RFA that requires a 9m offer even if the team wants to bridge it is a huge commitment.

  15. Debrincat going to the Kings makes the most sense imo. I don't see how trading him to another awful team makes any sense.

  16. As a flyer fan, NO WAY do I trade York, Frost and 5th overall, then having to pay DeBrincat huge money.
York,Frost and another young player but surely not 5th overall. Hell, I’d trade Tippett because he doesn’t impress me

  17. As a Flyers fan I don't appreciate mgt's practice of scattering useful players around the league like a farm team.

  18. FWIW, I don’t think the Flyers and Blackhawks have had any real serious talks regarding Alex DeBrincat. Not to say that can’t change, but other than kicking the tires, I don’t believe there’s been much to that so far. Again, that could obviously change."—-Piere LeBrun

  19. Bobby Brink 5th pick in the first round and maybe an older contract like Kevin Hayes

  20. The big knock on the Flyers this past season and maybe a bit longer too, is that they are easy to push around, they need bigger stronger players. Getting BOTH Gaudreau AND DeBrincat doesn't make much sense in that regard. I'd be happy with either or, and neither going to NJ, or anywhere in the Metro TBH

  21. This is totally a Fletcher panic move waiting to happen. So glad he no longer is running my team into the ground. He never learns from his mistakes. Have the Flyers held onto any of their second round picks? Last time I looked he was still trading them away like baseball cards.

  22. I think they should do it they're loaded at defense they need someone to put the puck in the net the number five pick and a prospect and that's it no more than that

  23. I don’t see any trade happening here. Between the season-ending pressers and the new coach hires, I think that the Flyers want to get bigger & faster, not smaller & more agile. Gauthier fits that description far better than DeBrincat.

As far as making a play for Gaudreau, the best plan for the Flyers is to trade JVR to Calgary for the negotiating rights to Johnny Hockey & sign him for an 8-year deal to reduce the Cap hit. It also frees up $7 million in Cap space to sign Gaudreau.

  24. After all of this talk the Cat will end up signing with the Hawks for a max 8 year deal. Hawks don’t need to trade him and set the trade price high because if they are gonna trade him it’s only if someone blows them away. 2 time 40 goal scorer and 3 time 30 goal scorer that will hit 50 soon is someone you could easily keep and build around

  25. I think the hawks aren't going to trade debrincat unless they get a bombshell of an offer like tampa made for hagel. The hawks have the "otter line" together and I think the 3 would prefer to remain teammates.

  26. Hawks would be crazy too trade him. Proven goal scorer pretty young i will take any day. Not worth 9 mil but who is. Draft pick means a gamble and some times don't work out. I wouldn't trade him and I am a Flyers fan.

  28. If Debrincat is Trade at Philly sure Konecny Will be in That Trade and more ,I dont give the fifth overall Pick no way
