  1. 👀
    MOCK TRADE
    To Chicago 2023 1st 3rd 2024 2nd 2025 2nd
    Muzzin

Conditional 2024 1st if Kane scores over 100 points and Leafs make it to the ECF

    To Toronto Kane 50%

It's the same thing they got for Debrincat except they get a extra 2nd because Torontos picks aren't as good as Ottawa and Kanes Vaule isn't the same as the much younger Debrincat also Muzzin Makes the salary work and Chicago can flip him for a second somewhere else maybe a 1st if they retain if this isn't enough id also be willing to throw in Matthew Knies which is the equivalent of decent 1st round pick and/or justin Holl so they can flip him for a 2nd+ for extra vaule as a surplus

Muzzin has a 10 team no trade list but they could convince his to waive it by telling him they will trade him to a contender before the season starts for a win win win Scenario

Chicago showed alot of interest in Knies as the most recent trade deadline in a deal that would've involved Flurey

Patrick Kane has also shown alot interest in playing with Auston Matthews at the Olympics and was very disappointed when he wasn't able to play on a line with him

Untouchable prospects IMO Topi Niemelä, Nick Robertson, Roni Hirvonen

  2. I think the Hawks would prefer high draft picks more than Robertson, Knies and Sandin. Kerfoot (or another player) would need to be included to make the Cap work for Toronto, and that's providing a third team gets involved to get a second 50% retention so that Toronto would have to handle only 25% of Kane's Cap hit ($2.6M). Including Kerfoot also assumes he would waive his NMC to be traded to Chicago which is not a high probability. But, assuming all the hurdles are overcome, I think something along these lines would work for Chicago, not sure if Toronto would agree,

    1. CHI trades Kane @50% and 2024 4th to AZ (AZ acts as middle man to take 25% Cap hit and only $750K actual dollar payout).
    2. AZ trades Kane @50% to TOR (TOR has Cap hit of $2.6M)
    3. TOR trades 2023 1st, 2024 2nd and Kerfoot to CHI (2024 2nd becomes 2024 1st if TOR wins CUP)

CAP hit for TOR is: Kane in @ $2.6M – Kerfoot out @ $3.5M – net difference is +$900K Cap space.

  3. Exactly what the leafs need – more top end forwards occupying a shit ton of cap space. If this happens Dubas is out to lunch. he just tried to save money by getting Matt Murray in goal

  4. There's literally a 0% chance he's going to trashronto. Kane ain't waiving to go to a failure franchise that can't get out of the 1st round, especially one with Murray as their starter

  5. Don't believe it unless they think this will get them to the finals or Dubas gets fired

  6. who would take tavares? would kane be the same guy only slightly cheaper? how does dubas keep his job?

  7. Knies is a non starter. Way to much for a year of kane. And we've not seen any teams give up that much for even big name in there prime type players let alone an aging one. so makes no sense at all. They need to take salary back and retain salary. So I think a deal might look like this:

Kerfoot holl Robertson sandin w/ 50% retained and a conditional 1st. If 1. Leafs make it past the 1st rd. Or 2. resigns (likely a 3-4 year deal). If not, it becomes a 2nd
Kerfoot and holl likely get shipped out for more futures at the deadline. Kerfoot might even get them another first depending on his season combined with contract.

  8. Why not wait until next year when he is a UFA. Betting the farm makes no sense here. We have too many question marks here that need to work out first. How about goaltending. Will we have another Mrazek problem again. The regular season is not the problem it is the playoffs. We lost forwards/defense to UFA again and we will probably lose Kerfoot/Bunting and Samsonov next year. We need some young players with controllable term. Sandin needs to be signed still since we lost Lybushkin a right defenceman. We need to get younger on defense. Let the young prospects get more experience in the minors so they are ready to be depth players for the playoffs. Knies available after college season will be more ready for the playoffs.

  9. SERIOUSLY HOW THE F DO KYLE DUBAS & BRENDAN SHANAHAN STILL HAVE LEAF JOBS? They've been brutal at assessing needs and making necessary changes, FOR YEARS!!!

  10. I cant see any interest in SANDIN . Blackhawks are extremely deep with young D ,Robertson doesnt interest me at all .Knies and picks

  11. Well it's close to Buffalo. But I just don't see it. A first round pick would have to be included instead of Robertson. I would target RANGERS. Laufranier and there first as the cornerstone. Maybe a couple mid level prospects included. Hawks would Have to take on a bad contract or two whereever they trade. Don't think Kane puts Toronto over the humo.

  12. Abbrusse and Holl instead of Knies. Knies is a non-starter in my opinion. Throw in a 1st rd pick or 2

  13. Conner McDavid coming to The Toronto Maple Leafs for Matthews,Tavares, and Nylander, the deal is almost complete. This will be breaking news in Toronto.

  14. Why would the Leafs sign a 33 year old with his best years behind him who is guaranteed 10.5 million next year and only has one year left before he is a UFA? Especially for 4 top players. Didn't they learn anything from signing Tavares for 11 million? How is that working out?

  15. It ain’t gonna happen. Kerfoot and Sandy aren’t good enough. Likewise would be the picks thrown in. I mean a late 1st round is not what is needed to get a player like Kane. Don’t be fooled by the name Robertson. He’s not going to be anywhere near the player his brother has become. Nick at 5”9 compared to his brother at 6”3? Cmon now. Kane is going to a team that can offer more in prospects and picks. Besides the Leafs would still have to fit him, a quality D and before the deadline possibly even a goalie within their cap. Click bait for sure
