UPL has been incredibly injury prone so he's probably staying in the AHL for another year for conditioning and he's gonna get called up first if there is an injury to Comrie or Anderson. Long term plan as it stands for goalies in Buffalo is that Levi is gonna be the starter when he is ready and until then it's gonna be Comrie as a starter for two years until UPL can stay in the majors full time as a backup and then eventually a starter until Levi is good to go. We also just added Topias Leinonen in the draft too so that's who I imagine would come after Levi but we are thinking very far out at this point.
The comments from SDP hosts don't seem to grasp that we have had a carousel of goalies due to injuries and COVID the last two years and all we are looking for now with this season is consistency and serviceable goaltending. No one is saying that Comrie and Anderson are gonna drag us to a cup like Hasek in 99. But they are good and good enough for us. And that's all we need this year, anything beyond that is a pure bonus
I mean can we give Anderson some credit? the guy had an .897 on BUFFALO. It was above .900 for a decent chunk of the year too
