If Pierre dumps some cap Ziatsev and other players that havent signed.Mathew is one of the very best forecheckers in the league.Stuezle and JBD would be the casualtie.Tim Stuezle has a very big contract coming up that would be why him.A fit both ways
Andersson would be my first choice, but honestly I’d go for Tanev.
Quality vet, RHD, one of the best shutdown Dmen in the league, reasonable AAV, short term.
Only issue he’s had is staying healthy, but I don’t think he’s missed a game since being a Flame. He’s be cheaper to get them Andersson as well.

I would have to Rasmus Anderson he is an excellant D he young the contract is reasonable, now that is not saying that Tanev is not a excellant D as well but i think Anderson would gel right in with Ottawa and the young group that we have, for Anderson it would be like he did not leave Calgary who cares about Mathew he would play with Brady and with the additions of DeBrincat, Giroux and Talbot. I think Andersson would fit right in and there would be no more drama. Now i know Calgary is the enemy still can not believe what Johnny Hockey and Tkachuk have done to the Flames that is over 200 points and yes the Sens went through 5 years of a rebuild and man they were lean times real lean
The only way the sens can acquire M. Tkachuk is if Debrincat is going the other way. And trading Debrincat before he ever plays a game for us is a really bad look. The other fear of adding Matthew is that if one Tkachuk brother becomes upset with management you have to deal with both of them. Considering Matthew is willing to kick the flames while they’re down, I wouldn’t trust him to play out a multiyear extension here without drama. GMPD needs to lock down that top 4 Dman and sign the 3 RFAs left. This tkachuk distraction is just a sideshow. I’m glad Dorion is taking his time though, there’s lots of time to sign or trade for a RD. The asking price will continue to drop the more time passes

I don’t see any way the Sens can bring in Brother Mathew. They will need a new deal for Stutzle after this season, and if they plan on resigning Debrincat then there is no room.
Also if they brought Matthew in, who do you bump down to the 3rd line? Giroux goes down to the 3rd line? Having a team so deep that Giroux is on your 3rd line would be incredible, but I don’t see Giroux being interested in that at all.
Now that Calgarys added Huberdeau and Weegar do we think they resign them and try to contend? Or do you think they might flip one or both of them?
If they’re willing to flip them and go into a rebuild, they could get a kings ransom for both of them. It’s highly unlikely, but if this is the case, now would be the time to make a move for Weegar.
What about Demello from Winnipeg that's a place that JBD and Brannstrom could go.Arizona with Chykrun they wont find a Sennator to go their.So it's out of the question to Arizona
