Sutter seems so levelheaded, I think his experience as a coach will factor into the rest of this series. As an Oilers fan I’ve gotta give credit where credit is due.
Playoffs are so different than reg season, tight check, less open ice, the guys that find or make open ice room and take advantage of the few prime opportunities usually end up with the win, slap or wrist shots from the point are deadly with traffic, gotta move them out, give goalie clear view of puck making contact with shooter, easier said than done. Penalties are absolutely deadly. Stay outta the box.
I've been listening to Sutter's interviews with the media for 20 years…I search for them. He loves to tweak members of the press and does it as often as they ask dumb questions…and they have a bottomless capacity to ask dumb questions. An elite coach, a great family man and someone who earns a ton of respect.
Love this coach. Once he figures out how to contain 97 without taking penalties they'll win the series. I'm sure he won't do what the avalanche did to St. Louis top player. I think he plays to fair to get into that shit.
D Sutter is the best ..I'd love to have him as a coach ..I got a brief sniff of playing against him n Brian n Duane…it was eye opening how determined they were as teens n right to the bigs ..I'm a huge Sutter fan ..great family ..
I wish we could hear what Darryl REALLY thinks. You know he is holding back 99% of what his genuine thoughts are because of the National CENSORSHIP League.
