  1. I think Brad Treliving is GM of the year for sure. The way he dealt with two knock-out blows is incredible. He replaced top talent with top talent. He's not even losing a first round pick because he got one from Florida. So it's a wash. And he ALSO has another top 4 defence man ……This is the best GM'ing I've seen since Burke pulled off the Sedin trades.

  2. I think a lot of journalists were clearly too quick saying that Kadri was going to sign with the Islanders. Actual insiders were saying it was too early to say that.

  3. I’d thought Rutherford was in a tough jam caused by Jim Benning negligence. He’s done as well as can be. But old Lou is in a jam caused by his own previous trades/signings in past 4 years. Barzel needs a wingman (JT) badly but his only asset he can trade to get him is Dobson RHD. Unless he trades 2023 1st rd unprotected for JT.

  4. S&P!! Can you fellas fix your audio next time? Your paid promotion is at normal volume but we gotta blast your show to hear what you’re saying, and I see you there 1mm from the mic so it’s being captured fine enough. It’s so frustrating watching youtube on TV constantly having to adjust the volume so I don’t blast out my neighbours every time a commercial comes on (including your paid promotion). Otherwise, thank you for the outstanding sports journalism, boys! Keep up the great work.

  5. How is this good khadri will be 39 at end of contract and the contract goes up as he gets older Calgary might be good next 2 years after theat tho there too old there goalie as well 33+ youngest got on them is 26 lindholm

  6. Kadri will be 32 years old before he plays his first game as a flame, Markstrom's on the wrong side of 30 and is due to decline, but most importantly, you're never getting close to 82 games out of Chris Tanev again. Kadri and Huberdeau put up once-in-a-career point totals with stacked teams and smartly cashed in on it, so who's to say they can replicate that on a weak Calgary team? And do people think chemistry happens instantly?

Calgary won't make the playoffs, and Edmonton's garbage too due to the obvious (and seemingly overlooked) fact that their defence and goaltending is weak. Alberta's not coming close to a cup for at least another 8 years, after their respective rebuilds. Terrible contracts based on recency bias.

That's why the Canucks should trade JT Miller at a 99-point value, but NOT sign him like a 99 point player. He even said himself on John Scott's podcast something to the effect of 99 points being a once in a lifetime achievement. He has the supporting cast around him to do it again but it seems like Canucks management is unwilling to give him "99 point player" money unless he were able to do it again. Kinda like baseball–you need to hit .300 for 2 seasons before people should believe that's the player you are. If JT is so confident he's that player, then by all means say no to a lower contract and play yourself into a massive extension. Like I said though, hopefully the Canucks can trade him from that value standpoint OR JT's camp blinks and they take a lesser amount on an extension before training camp, however much that may be.

  7. I liked Nelson when Nelson had been left exposed for the Vegas draft, K. He was left available when his salary was 2.5 mill – Mr Chiarelli was close, don't tell to many people, but instead of trading for what Strome, he trades for Nelson, instead. They both were 2.5.

  8. Those high prices were for Team Canada, I looked before, back in August. Now I can't double check, nothing back-dates like that with StubHub/Ticketmaster, etc. Rogers Arena not taking a few $20 bills to watch a team USA game? really? Everybody wanted to watch Team Canada, driving up the price and they knew it otherwise, its called general admission and you have your own problems with that.
