The Penguins entered Game 5 of their first-round NHL playoff series up three games to one on the Rangers. They exited it with a 3-2 series lead and without the heart of their team on the ice.
Sidney Crosby, who has been sensational in the series with nine points and two goals, was eventually forced to leave the game in the second period after taking a hard, high hit from Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba.

Possibly no more evenly matched teams in p/o's than these two but…in regular season, Pens gave up about 20 more goals than NY yet scored about 20 more than NY so…okay, this ain't rocket science so if Shesterkin – no p/o experience and was pulled in game 3, can stand on his head and Kreider /Zibanejad show up NY wins a close series…and this was a game 5 where 80% wins series!
