Larionov just signed a contract 5 days ago to become head coach of the Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo. He won't be the Wings next head coach. Lane Lambert who played for the Wings (and Yzerman) and is an assistant to Barry Trotz is likely the top candidate. Fedorov is another name being talked about. Rikard Grönborg and Roger Rönnberg are two Euro coach that could be considered. Also the coach for Tampa's AHL team could be considered. No way in hell does Babcock come back to Detroit. I also don't think the stink of the scandal with the Hawks is off Quenneville yet.
Whoever they get to be head coach, i would love to see Lidstrom as the defense coach to work with Seider, Hronek, Edvinsson, Johansson, Wallinder and Lindstrom. Obviously he would have to want this but those kids could learn so much from him and i'm sure if Lidstrom speaks, those young players will listen to everything he tells them. Even vet defensemen would listen to a HOF like Lidstrom.
Detroit's 2022 off-season:
Yzerman signs a new
Head coach: Sergei Federov
Assistant coach: Lane Lambert
Goalie coach: Dominik Hasek
Detroit garners another 2022 1st round draft pick, by taking on a contract:
Vancouver is expected to re-sign Brock Boeser and Bo Horvat, they are looking to shed cap space. I can see Yzerman taking on Tyler Myers $6 million per year contract. Tyler Myers has 2 years left on his contract. I can see Yzerman taking on Tyler Myers contract for Vancouver's 2022 1st round draft pick (15th overall). This will allow Vancouver to free up $6 million for the next 2 seasons.
NHL draft: Hopefully Detroit will get lucky, if they don't get lucky:
Detroit drafts at pick #8: Jonathan Lekkerimaki
Detroit drafts at pick #15 (originally Vancouver's)
Brad Lambert
June 25th:
Detroit re-signs Tyler Bertuzzi for 6 years at $6 million per season.
July 1st:
Detroit re-signs Dylan Larkin for 8 years at $8 million per season.
Free Agency: Detroit signs
Filip Forsberg for 7 years at $7.77 per season (no trade protection the last 4 years)
Detroit re-signs Magnus Hellburg for 2 years at $2.5 million per season.
Detroit re-signs Marc Staal for 1 year at $1 million.
Detroit re-signs Sam Ganger for 1 year at $750 thousand.
Detroit re-signs several pending RFA players.
Detroit's 2022-2023 line-up:
Bertuzzi Larkin Raymond
Vrana Forsberg Zadina
Fabbri Veleno Berggren
Rasmussen Suter Stephens
Erne
Edvidsson Seider
Myers Hronek
Staal Lindstrom
Oesterle
Nedeljkovic
Hellburg
Let's go Wed Rings 💒 💍
Blah, blah, blah…
Bro do you not watch the games? WHy'd you say Ned's name like that?
don’t know if Steve Yzerman gonna find a Kris Draper for a 1$ like Scotty Bowman did but don’t be suprised if he does 🤷♂️👍
Babcock will NEVER COME BACK TO THE DETROIT REDWINGS
Gagner is gone, he is honestly useless, hes way to slow, he is going to be a AHL player if he does return
Zadina, rasmussen and Vrana will be a killer line next year, ras on the 2nd, line with them would be great, Velno Suter and fabs on the 3rd line (assuming fabs is in the NHL to start the year after another ACL surgery) on the 4th line i can see bergren, and a couple more prospects but i dont see gagner returning, nor do i see erne being kept, he's a solid 4th liner and should be in the American league, hes just to slow.
Rasmussen is starting to roll also.
Zadina deserves a one year prove it deal with his latter games with Varana
Babcock got fired by Detroit? No, they got outbid by Toronto that made him the leauges best paid coach, then THEY fired him, not us.
Zadina might not get a spot on the roster beacause of "younger top prospects like (26 year old none drafted career AHLer) TARO HIROSE"?😅 And that butchering of how to pronaunce Nedeljkovic… Sorry not trying to be mean i just could not continue to watch after those three glaring mistakes only during the first 5 mins of this video. Do some research before posting if you want your channel to be taken seriously and grow… No offense just a friendly tip. LGRW
Lambert and then draft Brad Lambert !!!
Nah i wanna trade Bert
You'll never see Federov back in Detroit. Where were you people when Sergei and Steve were on the Wings? They did not mesh together. And who could forget how much the anti-Russian element in Detroit was. Steve was the golden child, Sergei was disliked.
"Within a year or two they grow two feet." Huh?
Neh-dul-KO-vich? The accent goes on the second syllable. Come on now. And Babcock wasn’t fired by Detroit. Babcock decided to move on and his choice was between Buffalo and Toronto.
Things change quickly. Yzerman might just land Trotz himself.
Why not Trotz for coach? Redwings surly need better defense system.
Learn the players names if your going to talk about a team. Butchering Hirose and Nedeljkovic's name shows me you don't follow the team.
“Na del co vitch” Nedeljkovic
Blashill was not a very coach.
Peter deboer
I would like to see them get Trochek, get some more rookies in the lineup like Bergrren, Edvinsson, possibly Johansen, as well as making Gronberg the next coach. I know it isn't popular but I also think it is time to move 2z, his value is never going to be higher and he is aged out of the rebuild IMO. If you can get a good prospect and a pick I would pull the trigger.
Any wings fan that thinks bringing Babcock back would be a good idea is an idiot.
Babcock won't be back, All the free agents will be back, some on two way contracts possibly. Stevie will keep them until the trade deadline for draft considerations. Stevie is going to keep the griffons stocked as well, As for coaching staff it will be a Swedish coaching staff, maybe from frolunda, the Swedish Red Wings
i wish Lidstrom would be looking to coach.
The Swede or Velluci. Or some bridge guy.
Walman is solid
Dekeyser could offer to pay the wings 5 mil a year and he's not coming back.
LGRW, seeing the rangers this post season makes me excited for the wings… underdogs, Ned has so much potential if he gets a good D in front of him, Greiss is a solid backup when his confidence is up… more pucks on the net less on our own and we're golden
Doesn't matter what Yzerman WANTS to do, it matters what Chris Ilitch will LET him do, by spending $82.5 million on payroll next year. Little Caesar's stock is down over 50% from its high, and revenues are flat so Ilitch has been cutting expenses on all his companies. Don't expect a massive infusion of cash from Ilitch for a couple years.
Pretty poor review. First hints were the pronunciation of NedelKOvic and SEEmoan Edvinsson telling you this guy has very little idea what he’s talking about
Brayden point was a 3 rnd pick 79th overall
