We see him play like this the last few preseason games and he’ll definitely earn a spot to start the season.

I know the drumbeat has been sending him to Laval but I’d at least like to see him for 9 games, and he should get a few with Suzuki and Caufield. I thought he was our best player tonight and looks like he can be a beast the more he gets used to NHL speed and rink size.

give him 9 games with the big boys! Couldn’t hurt!

He wouldn’t be my rookie pick in a hockey pool but it would be fun to see him get some games. I think it’s still better for him to play the year in Laval, though. 2 good periods isn’t enough to change my mind but my mind isn’t set in stone if that makes sense.

Hopefully he’ll play tomorrow with Suzuki and Caufield.

Having him play on opening night, and hearing those roaring cheers once he hits the ice will do a lot for his confidence. Kid will shine under that Montreal crowd

I’d like him to start in Laval.

I think he’d do fine here, but there’s something to be said to having the minutes and earning the confidence to get to the next level. It’s also a fact that the habs are gonna suck and lose a lot, and might as well win with Laval than lose with the Habs.

Also, with Monahan being back, we barely have a spot for everyone, I don’t see who’s getting shafted (I already have Hoffman out of the lineup)

This is a guy who started on the third line in the olympics and he got better every games to become the main force on the first line. Even if he starts in Laval, I’m confident that he’ll be back in the top 6 and maybe top line by the end of the year.

I actually don’t care if he starts in Laval or Montreal.

what is the difference between 9 games and 40? I recall THG saying something about it but dont remember what. in short he said the 40 is more important (maybe waiver eligibility?)
