It felt like this series came down to the will of the Boston perfection line and the will of Rod the Bod, and because Rod can impact all 4 lines vs the top line of Boston only impacting their shift….Carolina won.
Good to see Carolina break through a tough series. That could really help build a deep run.

the score of this game reflected how close this series actually was, instead of the constant blowouts, imho only 3 games in this series should had fair results, this game, game 2 and game 6.

Glad the Canes were finally able to slay this dragon. Boston's been their endgame final boss for years now. Just wish the Aho line had figured out how to breakthrough the Bergeron matchup at some point on the road; Bergy's been the motivating factor for Aho's development over the past 3 years, and I wish Aho would have solved that rivalry here.
Biggest surprise to me was how well Boston's depth held up against the Trocheck and Kotkaniemi lines. Stick taps to them for pushing this series to the brink.

We need Anderson back because I don't know if Ranta could go for the whole playoffs, health-wise, but in terms of skill and performance I'd feel completely comfortable with him in net. Bruins have higher top-end talent, but I think the Hurricanes definitely have better depth. Great series. Glad the Canes could finally top them after the Bruins have had the best of them the past few years in the post season.
Thanks Coach for yet another shout out (what's that now? 3? Lol) Anyway I saw this coming when I found out Boston was going to play Carolina. Carolina has been scary good all year to spite my feelings on the regular season scores being somewhat illusive . The reality of the playoffs is often different than the regular season. I do think this was a pretty good season if you are a Bruins fan – sure the finish to season was disappointing…but that's the playoffs! I'll stick around to see how this hockey season ends. More than anything I want someone to beat the hell out of the lightening lol

I had the canes winning the east I never looked at the odds with Boston I thought they’d be favoured heavily against the bruins.
