Considering the expected cap increase in a couple years, we were looking at 10m+ anyways. I wonder if after this year the management would try to do a long term deal to get a bit of discount too if they can. The longer they wait, the more the have to pay for the risk they are avoiding
10+? he hasn’t even hit over 70 points yet. If he gets passed 80 points for the next 2 seasons, maybe $9.5 but over 10+ is insane for somebody that hasn’t even hit 70 points yet.
Don’t get me wrong, I want him to succeed. if he deserves $10+, that means he’s getting at least 90 points the next 2 seasons.
He could probably command a higher contract *now* as he has a better career PPG, more career goals in 100+ less games, younger, and is significantly better defensively.
Now if he was to have a monster season this year he’s definitely making over $10m. THANKS BENNING.
Personally, I hope he kills it this year and next, and he will be worth the $10+mill. I’m hoping he has an 80-90 point season this year
