Columbus still has a lot of player that are going to be sent down. That, plus unloading a depth defenseman and a depth forward should get them what they need to pay Laine. There’s no way Jarmo does this without a plan.

No way that the penguins miss the playoffs. This Ottawa crap has got to stop too. So they went out and got a few players. I've seen teams go out and try to buy or trade their way into the playoffs before and totally suck. (Rangers) We don't even know if these guys are a good fit in Ottawa. What if they can't play together and stink it up in the basement of the Atlantic like usual? We don't know yet. I think that maybe they've improved a little but Ottawa has a legacy of playing really bad 😝 hockey for most of the season. This team hasn't changed that much. They've got a lot of young players who might get hungry and mature into a real team but they are still way behind everyone else. I like Brady Tkachuk and Debrincat. Those two are going to have to lead the way for them to be successful. But seriously let's not get ahead of ourselves and say that they're gonna make the playoffs. That's just not realistic for a team like theirs. What if a new guy gets hurt and now they're left with a skeleton crew trying to crawl out of the cellar of the Atlantic? Then nobody makes the all-star team and guys start whining about playing time. The coach starts losing his mind every game behind the bench when nobody is back checking or blocking shots. One of the trainers wives starts flirting with a couple of players and then they find themselves in a huge Me-Too scandal with a lawsuit on the way. You know, what if that happens? Probably won't but you know what I'm saying. Ottawa needs to improve a lot more if they want to be contenders.
I think it's a huge test for RBA. He had the comment about they have a lot of good players, no elite goal getters. Then Waddell gets Patches?? Think that's answering the call in the most obvious way as a GM

I guarantee you the Isles did something and we just don’t know. Lou tends to not say anything until September. Maybe he signed Klingberg, or traded Bailey and signed Kessel, Kadri, or offer sheeted someone. We won’t know until September unless someone else says something.

The Wings can't afford to let a player like Bertuzzi get away because of his style of play. They don't have enough players like him to get by without him. It would be a very big mistake because the team would be too soft.

Bertuzzi is staying in Detroit. He is the type of player that Yzerman values. Detroit treated Todd well. Loyalty has its merits.
