Kylington and Valimaki are both left handed. Canucks need RHD like Weegar. There’s speculation as to the quietness on the Weegar contract front. He wasn’t impressed with his new dressing room either. Not to say Weegar might be traded again but he was a piece that Treliving was not expecting. And I do agree Treliving really likes Vancouver players and vice versa.
They may trade him that would not be surprising but I don't think Canucks are the partner.
The only dman that makes sense is Weegar.

both these guys are left hand d men. doesn't address the need. van need a top 4 d man who shoots right. off wing d men on the PP are problematic. short handed scoring chances all over the place. garland or boeser should spark interest for a top 4 RH d man.

The flames right side is too stacked right now. Weegar, Andersson, and Tanev are all top 4 guys. If the canucks can free up some cap space somehow, I wonder if a package based off of hoglander would be interesting to the flames in exchange for Andersson. That might give them the cap they need to lock up weegar too. Maybe it's canucks fan wishful thinking… lol

I believe was Elliotte said Canucks reached out to the Flames after they acquired Weegar. Which would make way more sense, I can almost guarantee Canucks don’t trade for a LHD, we need a right shot Dman.

The problem with both those from the Canucks perspective is they are both left side. Canucks already have Hughes, OEL, Dermott, and Rathbone penciled in that side. Even if OEL moves to the right side like it’s been rumoured those 3 are all better than Valimaki, and no way would they put 3 Quinn Hughes like players on the left side in Hughes, Rathbone, and Kylington. The Canucks would be way more interested in a Tanev type to stabilize their right side. It’s really sad they let him walk for nothing a couple years ago.
