  1. I'm excited for the upcoming season. Though the one player I want to trade for is nick Paul or Brandon Hagel

  2. I don't really care whether Jesse goes or stays. I believe he still has that potential, and he may or may not unlock it with Edmonton if he stays, but a new start may be the case for Jesse. If we were to trade him, I hope we can get at least a 2nd and a 4th or vet defenseman. Or Martin Necas lol. I just wished things could've been better for the Bison King in Edmonton.

  3. I honestly don't think Barrie is a fit in Edmonton. When you look at our defensive roster, Barrie seems out of place. Nurse-Barrie was a decent offensive pairing, but it was also one of the worst defensive top pairings in the NHL. Barrie played really well with Kulak, and Kulak posted great offensive numbers with Barrie, but Kulak wants a spot in our top 4, and when Nurse was suspended in game 6 (or 5?) vs LA, Kulak-Ceci was an excellent defensive shutdown pairing. Oilers should make that their 2nd pairing. Idk if the Oilers should hold Kulak back on the 3rd pairing just to keep Barrie when Kulak was able to post the best defensive stats in our lineup this year (6.8m for a 3rd pairing???). The 2 only options left for Barrie is the 3rd pairing with Broberg and the 7th spot. Idk about you, but a Broberg-Barrie pairing sounds like a recipe for disaster. I wouldn't play that 3rd pairing when our top guys are resting. I think the Oilers should let go and trade Barrie for a top 4 defenseman who can back up Nurse. His power play gap can be filled in by Bouchard and Nurse, and maybe the new defenseman we traded for (or signed if we're getting rid of Barrie for cap space instead) depending on who it is. Barrie is still a useful power play man and a veteran. I can see teams like Ottawa, Montreal or Seattle use a defenseman like Barrie. Edmonton though, is not one of those teams.

  4. Yes Jesse needs to be traded to a new team because of his lack luster play and the chip on his shoulder, thinking he should to on the top line ! He is just a third line player only !

  5. You can give JP all the fresh starts you want. The assessment from the locker room was not inaccurate. He is a play killer, and I watched endless plays die on his stick over the course of the past couple seasons. He can go get a fresh start anywhere else, and he'll still be garbage, because his attitude is garbage.

Idgaf about fantasy stats that make him look better than he is. I grade him with what I saw over the course of the past couple of seasons. Good riddance.

  6. I'd rather lose foegle at this point on terms of production vs salary.

Jesse has more utility. And can be pulled up in a pinch in case of injuries.

But we don't know the relationship between him and the oilers right now.

  7. I think Chicago would be a good fit for Pullijarvi and benson and samarukov cause they all could get playing time there considering all the players they got rid of

  8. I was so pumped when he got to play with Nuge for a while on the 3rd line, it seemed to me like they worked much better together than JP with 97. Maybe Nuge and JP play at a more similar speed and both have a tendency to play a 2-way game so there's more common ground. Having a defensively very responsible 3rd line which has an offensive threat would be amazing overall and especially in the playoffs, then the lines would be built around 91-97, 29-56, and 93-13. It's too bad this doesn't seem to be possible currently under the salary cap. Then there are the potential locker room issues, there's been enough rumors about it that most likely there's at least some bad blood somewhere in there. At this point I agree that the likelihood of a JP trade going through seems higher than ever.

  9. JP is so freaking passive! Everything he does is ho hum tongue weighing out blah biddy blah blah! It's like he Diane give a rat's arse!
If he were to take hood boxing classes seriously and redefine himself as a tough guy willing to take and throw some punches he'd have value but otherwise everyone he does is too slow!

  10. completely wrong on the JP trade rumour lol, they said both those teams would have made sense before he signed no shot they trade him now

  11. They should just move Jesse puljujarvi for a draft pick or do a trade with a team that somebody like Jesse puljujarvi I'm hearing kerfoot but idk..that would be a instesting but I still wanna see wat McCloud can do this season he played petty darn good plus too our up top prospect well see who makes the team

  12. Jesse won’t be going anywhere, I don’t see why ya’ll think he’s trade bait. If he does get traded it would likely be a package deal Jesse, yamo & possibly Warren or possibly a draft pick for a offensive defence man. Scoring isn’t the issue with the oilers.

  13. JP needs to go. His bench-mates aren't a big fan of him. He's an outsider and just doesn't fit the Oilers mold.

  14. While I will hate to loose the Bison King it does make sense. To sign Yamo for 3 mil moving Jesse at 3 mil (preferably with no return other than picks) helps. We'll see. Take care all.

  15. Is there a hockey journalist in Edmonton actually capable of following this JP saga by doing what a journalist is supposed to do … that is try for an interview with JP his agent or the ever elusive Ken Holland. This is not rocket science.

  16. We all understand the business..but like you mentioned Patrick…if a player wants to stay (Foegel)and by all accounts or noise fits in well with the group that to is worth something…the tuff thing is the possibility of Jesse starting the season strong and increasing the trade value is there which would help Edmonton….or like Foegel is what we see in Jesse the last 2 years is what he will be.. which is a very similar player to Foegel IMO…Foegel when he plays is all over it just like Jesse and he to could bump up to 20 goals along with that hard skating forechecking style …and that brings us to chemistry and the fact McDavid is a training buddy (I believe..if I am wrong let me know)..and we all know McDavids opinion carries weight….the top 6 is strong so really does it come down to the room and fit when dealing with Jesse???

  17. PLEASE stop with the "Jesse wants to go" narrative unless we hear it from the man himself. There is zero actual proof this is the case other than (insert fake hockey insider here) comments to boost likes and shares.
