  1. Passed over 3 times is virtually unheard of in the NHL. This guy obviously has major character red flags.

  2. At the end of the day, the higher you go the more unnecessary pressure is put on you, him dropping to four could make him THE steal of the draft, Seattle is very lucky that wright slipped to them, and he doesn’t have to deal with that Montreal pressure cooker, the kraken have a very bright future as far as centers go.

  3. So much more watchful than the NBA draft. Those kids aren't looking at themselves in the mirror while they put a hat on.

  4. I’m a habs fan but I wish wright all the best in Seattle and I think him staring down the habs table is pretty funny ngl

  5. While , what if they get Connor Bedard , Matvei Michkov are Adam Fantilli next year's draft , They could end up being scary for along time.

  6. That was an awesome death stare he gave to Montreal. I hope he plays with the biggest chip on any shoulder

  7. wonder if he fell due to attitude ? Seems like he's a bit cocky…. maybe the teams that passed on him were worried about his abilities to be a positive teammate ?

  8. I guess Montreal didn't like Wright's arrogant-I deserve to be the no. 1- attitude either 😂 Hughes said that they liked Slafkovsky's humor and that he is not arrogant – probably suggesting that Wright was. Glad he fell down to the 4th place.

  9. This is what happens when you over scrutinize. You start to see things you think are holes in someone’s game when they aren’t actually there. He has been scrutinized for the past 5 years. He is better than Slaf. What a pick by Seattle. He is built to be a captain.

  10. I legit cant believe Arizona passed on him. With all the issues they had they were handed a superstar to brand their team around and instead went for cooley. Cooley has great upside dont get me wrong, but he aint gonna sell seats or elevate your teams market cap next year (its gonna be 2 years min) (and arizona is the only team in the entirte league that desperately need a name to sell)

  11. I think Montreal and New Jersey passed on him because he isn’t want they were looking for, the habs already have Suzuki at centre and they don’t really need another young stud centermen, so they went with the 6’4 left shot left winger instead, and New Jersey is in the same boat with Hughes and hischier down the middle so they got a winger instead. I am a littler confused as to why Arizona went with Cooley instead of wright but it probably is a blessing for wright in the long run as he will most likely perform better in Seattle then Arizona and he’ll be the face of the franchise for a long time. But my hot take is that probably half the league would have drafted wright first overall if they won the draft lotto as he is what they need but unfortunately in this years draft the top 2 teams had no use for him.

  12. There is obviously a reason he went 4th. Arrogance or attitude issues? Or simply he's not as good as people are saying. If it were me I'm happy to not play for the team who just finished last. Going to Seattle is better than Arizona or NJ I argue.

  13. Stud. Big win for Seattle. As a Canucks fan, I'm not looking forward to going up against him. Seattle got a winner in this kid and it's going to look nuts in years to come that he dropped to fourth.

  14. I am about to say one thing about Wright that imo will hold back his production so just maybe he reads this and adheres to my advice.
Obviously nobody has seen him on the ice versus NHL players but what i have noticed is that he does a lot of "tailing off"and by that i mean he takes a shot and tails off he makes a pass and tails away from the net he NEEDS to continue on to the net looking for rebounds instead of fading away from the net.I actually see a LOT of players do this and all you need to know is that Phil Esposito and Tim Kerr scored a ton of goals NOT with skating prowess all they did was stand around the net.IMO Wright is a solid player he can definitely handle net traffic and SHOULD be in the crease area a lot more looking for garbage or maybe even a loose puck to feed a nice pass off or to simply keep the shots coming and maybe something goes in or banks in off a defender you just never know.

  15. Slav might be the overall more dangerous offensive player because of size and reach and good hands but Wright is imo a better overall player but perhaps Slav got the nod because of sheer size alone he SHOULD be rugged enough i am sure Wright is already rugged enough.
