You guys are too young to know of or remember 1970s Chicago Black Hawks and The Tombstones that The Late Tom Lysiak had to look up and see. The Tombstones were The Numbers Of Boldereuv, Rota, And Russell, Who Were Traded To The Then-Atlanta Flames. In Return For Them, Chicago Got Tom Lysiak, And A Couple Of Other Players. As Tom Lysiak said that playing in Chicago that First Season And A Half, In The Old Chicago Stadium, was Hell, Until Tom Lysiak Won Over The Chicago Crowd. By The Way, as I'm sure you know, Back Then, They Weren't The Chicago Blackhawks, But Chicago Black Hawks.
I would disagree our prospect pool is honestly pretty decent. Two great goalie prospects, we have 5-6 dmen that look to be legitimate 2nd pairing guys with Korchinski possible being a top 2 guy, and forwards we are only ok on with Reichel, Nazar, Dach, Ludwinski, looking to be shoe in for middle six forwards but have the ceiling to be solid top 6 forwards. I would say we are right in the middle of the league for prospect pools and if we add a few more forwards to our pool we are in the upper third.
Calling the blackhawks a bottom 3rd prospect team is just not remotely accurate. They are somewhere between 15-18. And that's solely because of their Deep, Deep defensive prospect pool. From Mitchell, to Del Mastro, to Allen, the Rinzel, to Korchinski, to Beaudin, to Regula, to Vlasic, to Kaiser. Not to mention interesting projects in Phillips and Galvas.
What's keeping the prospect pool down is the utter lack of forward prospects. This will change over the next few years. But to suggest they are bottom 3rd is just ignorant analysis.
