Time to clean house – Sweeney has been a disaster. I feel Cassidy’s record was hidden behind Bergeron line and overplaying Rask.. Rask always was a world beater when he played about 70% of games. Cassidy ran with him all playoffs even when he should have rested at least one game per series. I digress.. but Cassidy’s calls I often questioned. The Sweeney draft record is inexcusable. Neely allowing this to go on was also inexcusable, but he gets a few too many passes for his legacy. The next couple of years are going to be painful.
I forgot to mention Cassidy’s line up calls for shootouts are crazy. With Pasta, Marchand, Bergeron, Hall sitting on bench, Cassidy likes to say “my gut says let’s start with Coyle, Carlo, DeBrusk, and Wagner.. oh… they didn’t score”.
I don’t disagree with your take coach. If there’s no perfection line – the Bruins are mediocre at best. Frankly the criticism I had all of last year was scoring depth. Outside of their top line – You have Hall and Debrusk who are streaky at best. Outside of Macovoy , Lindholm . And Griz I don’t have much faith in their d-core. Firing Cassidy is a clown show. It’s beyond frustrating. Not developing players is a New England thing not just a Bruins thing. Lol

You cannot let a generational talent walk like pasta.. they’ve always wanted and needed a true elite scorer and we’ve had him for some good years but can’t let that walk or trade away IMO

the problem with a lot of these bad contracts they have to move is the have no trade clauses which blows my mind.

They need to get rid of Sweeney and Neely then clean house with some of the players trade Foligno, Reilly, Grzelyck, Ullmark, Smith, Coyle and Nosek. Some have NTC , but most times players will waive if they know they are not wanted by a team. Foligno also only has 1 year left in his deal.

Bruins fans are fiercely loyal, and I believe ownership knows it. Why else would they keep putting out such a mediocre product year after year. They are usually good but not quite good enough. That's all Jacobs wants. Just keep coming to the Garden and shelling out your hard earned cash. Maybe we will get lucky like we did in 2011.
