Just wanted to pop in as a friendly Wings fan and say how much I appreciate Joe and Craig as the play-by-play announcers for the Caps. Definitely my favorite voices to hear in hockey aside from our beloved Ken and Mickey. They always give props to the other team and put some energy in their voice when the other team scores. They also took the time to pronounce our players names properly; even some of the guys who haven’t played an NHL game yet. Much respect and good vibes to you all. Have a great season!

I didn’t get a good look on the trip on Eller so I can’t say if that actually was a penalty or not, but the one that was called right after was definitely a make-up call. Probably frustrating for wings fans to lose on that.
I thought Detroit outplayed us the first half of the game, but we were better the second half. I didn’t like the second goal against Kuemper, but overall he was good.
Hit on Oshie was borderline but not egregious, more than anything it’s unfortunate that his body has turned to glass. I’ll be sad if he’s out long-term, but there’s definitely a silver lining if that happens because several of the kids deserve spots.
From how Joe and Craig talk about it it sounds like Johansen won’t play opening night, which is too bad because I actually like what I’ve seen from him more than Gustafsson and I’d really like to see him get a shot.
