Refs blowing the game on a weak call. Gotta make the fans happy though.

  2. Well, not the ending I would have liked to see, but overall I thought they looked okay. The Ras goal was fantastic, Soderblom has some excellent looks as well.

    These announcers are obnoxious

  4. Also Berts haircut is really tripping me up. He doesn’t look…right…without the flow

Looks like we need to practice our shootouts.

Unfortunate game from Edvinsson, hope he bounces back and performs stronger next game

No top 6 forwards and no top 4 d I’ll take it to be honest.

Standouts: Husso Ras soderblom berggren johansson.

It’s actually amazing that Soda, as **large** as he is, somehow sneaks past everyone into the open for those break aways, haha.

Rasmussen played well, zadina and bertuzzi looked good. So did veleno. I’d like to see more from husso, that last goal wasn’t a bad one but it was shot right into his pads. It wasn’t a good shot, and that second goal to Jensen was shot from the point and wasn’t tipped. Needs to be better if we make the playoffs. Soderblom looked good again but man he needs to have some deception on these scoring chances, you gotta fool the goalies if you wanna score man. Edvinsson had a legit horrible first period but really solid bounce back second and third periods, some of the times he inserted himself into our rush really added something to the offense. I know he makes mistakes but guys like oesterle only have one job, edvinsson is tryna get PP reps, jump up into the play offensively and hasn’t gotten any luxuries of being paired with a Vet. It’s a lot of responsibility compared to oesterle so mistakes need to be expected in comparison.

Well, we got the full Edvinsson experience tonight. Moments that make him look like he’s a no-brainer for the Opening Night roster and moments that make him look like he needs some time in GR to iron out some things without the threat of elite players punishing those mistakes with goals. You can just see the potential oozing off of him despite that though. He’s going to be fun to watch during his career.

Pretty decent showing vs a better squad than ours. The ending and the shootout was quite anticlimactic but oh well, that’s preseason hockey for y’a!

On a side note, I liked how the Washington crowd was in awe when they saw Big E do a spin-o-rama backhand in the slot.

Söderblom is going to be something special. Buckle up

Edvinsson has obvious first-pairing potential, but rushing him into the league as a teenager seems like such a bad idea. There’s parts of his game he needs to straighten out and that shouldn’t be done in the NHL.

I wish the Wings would’ve given Al Johansson a better look this pre-season. He’s the more experienced and less important prospect that could fit in on the leftside third pairing. Maybe they think he isn’t big enough?
