@Kings de Los Angeles

1. The Kings are a post season team, that is how they're built. During the regular seasons were average. It's hard to win in an 82 game season. They just have to get in and they take off. Dustin Brown is worth 5 million dollars next season to any team who wants his entanglements to teach their younger players. Buffalo Sabres needs to offer Dustin Brown a contract he can't refuse. He grew up in upstate New York along with his wife, both of their parents live in upstate New York. The Kings could only offer Dustin Brown a million dollars next year and they have a prospect that needs the spot. Dustin Brown is not selfish he knows a kid in the ahl needs that spot. He is okay with retirement, but he is only 37 and Buffalo could and needs to offer Dustin Brown a 15 million 3 year deal.

  2. Listen, we all know Louis Domingue is doing so well because of that "Spicy Pork and Broccoli…not da best" interview. We all know that it is an Ancient Third String Goalie Dark Arts incantation which makes him do his job well. Somewhere in his locker is a dead cat, some beads, a 5 Iron, and 6 open Labatt Blue Light cans. There's a French version of this spell but it just throws everything out and it involves nihilism and fish, but I can't be sure. You know it, and I know it.

  3. Nice review! I did question your sweep prediction by Oilers over Kings to start the playoffs and my reasoning was defense and Goaltending wins the series. However, w/o Drew Doughty I felt Oilers should win in 6. I believe what turned the tide was Game 4 decision by Coach McClellan to bench Byfield and Spence and insert Vets Athenesiou and Stetcher. Byfield and Spence are not ready for Prime Time as they just continue to cough up the puck, like Game 2 and 3. The Kings lead the league in opportunities, but lack skill to put puck in the net and their specialty teams are atrocious, which favors the Oilers. That's why this series is going 6 or 7 games!

  4. A lot of people bag on the oilers for their lack of playoff success and say trade Mcdavid and shit. Yet they went to game 7 round 2 in 2017. But I don’t hear anyone saying trade Mathews and they have had zero success.

  5. As good as McDavid and Draisaitl are, the oilers have really been hoisted by their own petard with those contracts. They keep pretending they have depth because they have to; they can't really get true depth because they can't afford all the pieces anymore.

  6. 97..29 …trip over the centre line when back checking….no one and I mean no one in the media will call them out…the worst Looouie Debrisk…biggest suck hole ever

  7. Go Kings Go! Very proud of my team. An achievement in making the playoffs with the new kids and old vets. Also, Drew being out of for the year. Even if the Oilers come back and win, glad to see my kings show some grit and hang with them. Our future looks bright.

  8. McDavid takes over the game. He skates around the Kings with consummate ease. His passes are precise and result in goals. All for naught when he fails to take out Kempe in OT. The Kings' number nine leaves Oilers flopping on ice as he easily, skillfully dekes out Smith and slides home the game winner.

I love NHL playoff hockey. GKG.

  9. Draisaitl was anything but amazing. Yeah, he scored two goals. And he also directly permitted two LA goals by being completely out of position in Edmonton’s end on multiple King possessions. That’s Edmonton’s problem. They can win lots of games in the regular season with their offense, but in the playoffs if you don’t play solid team D there are not many series you are going to win.

Draisaitl is one of the very worst positional defensive players in the game. I don’t know if it is pure laziness in that end on his part or just a conscious unwillingness to do it on his part. But it is there playoff game after playoff game. Until he and other Ed forwards actually start playing help defense this team will never advance far into the playoffs.

  10. watching the last two games, not even sure I'd call the oilers a two-man team. It's really just been McDavid. McDavid had his best game of the series but if no else can generate offense but him they're not gonna win, he was directly responsible for all 4 of the oilers goals. Drai hasn't been great despite the points and I almost wonder if he's playing injured, as he did get injured toward the end of the season.
It's just beyond disappointing, lack of effort from so many guys. Good for the kings though, battled back after 2 tough games, and have dominated since. Series isn't over but I can't say I'm hopeful

  11. Mike Smith was good last night the Oilers gave up 7.7 expected goals Smith gave up 5 that’s 2.7 goals saved above expected that’s very good just bc the Oilers terrible defensive night made Smith’s sv% look bad doesn’t mean he was bad

  12. It’s not really completely a matter of depth. Kings play a team game. Oilers do not. Oilers are the sort that abandon that to open up scoring opportunities for McDavid and hope that’ll be enough. Which it never will be in the playoffs.

  13. Oh, and Makar is better than McDavid. MacKinnon is better than Draisatl. If just by their ability to play defense

  14. McDavid and Draisatl don’t earn their money when them scoring as much as they do just results in them being scored on even more and resulting in a loss

  15. Those Oiler "great" are partially at fault. Not mostly at fault, but the days of giving McDavid,& Drasaitil total free passes, for losing to inferior teams in playoff flameout s,has to end. I think McDavid has actually tried to become a better leader, with better body language,& actually try to play both ends-it just isn't natural for him. But Drasaitil still looks often disinterested in playing both ends. They aren't close to that teams biggest issues, but they can't get all the credit,& none of the blame anymore either.

  16. Not to mention that next game Nurse will be out for headbutting Danault so Game 6 in LA without their top D-man might make it difficult to do anything.

  17. I might be a biased Canes fan but it’s kinda confusing to me that the Oilers have buried Warren Foegele and give him less than 10 minutes a game. He was a major playoff contributor in the Canes’ 2019 ECF run with (5g, 4a) in 15 games played. He can add depth scoring when given the chance

  18. that will vs skill line is 100% correct. good series so far. one more for the kings to move on!!!

  19. People will never learn. Hockey is NOT all about skill. Skill is important but every player in the NHL is highly skilled. The hatred of losing has to trump the love of winning. Those are two really different things. You are right. Somehow these American teams, particularly Boston, Pittsburg, and now LA find these college kids that are hungry. It’s not so much depth but that willingness to sacrifice the body that is hurting the Oilers. However yes there are depth issues, particularly in D-core and goaltending is the biggest glaring hole. Pittsburg 3 strung goalies comes in cold after sitting an entire game and puts Smith to shame. No rebounds, highly composed. Smith seems so awkward and really struggles with rebounds. I will give it to him he competes very hard. But unfortunately the position is unforgiving. He’s wildly inconsistent.

  20. I bet 200$(or so I taught) on the Kings to win it all. This was after game 4, saw something in my team that lit a fire in me, and I decided to pull the trigger. My a-hole friend that happened to be in Vegas was too busy partying, didn't place the bet (65-1) odds. After our win in game 5 odds dropped to (25-1). I am pissed. I know it's a long shot what with Colorado, Calgary even the Blues still out there, but man am I pissed. If you're gonna bet on a long shot winner might as well get the best odds. Couldn't believe one game could drop them so drastically. Oh well. Go Kings Go!!! (Still placed the bet. 200 to win 5000.) F you Jose.

  21. Lol, as a Kings fan, we wanted to play anybody. Just happy to see playoff hockey in LA. 1st cup win came as an 8th seed, so we know all bet are off. Kings are without two of their best players, but they have been showing and testing their depth all season being plagued by the injury bug. I'll take whatever happens this year, cause next year they're gonna be a juggernaut.

  22. Oilers are screwed. I hate to say it as I was pulling for them, but they're done. Nurse is now suspended for game 6. Looks like season over for the Oilers
