1. Hold off on the signing, I still have nightmares from the last guy we signed in a similar situation 😅

  2. I’ll be honest. The early DeBrincat extension makes me slightly nervous. I’m worried we’ll pay him like a 40 goal guy, but he’ll only be a 30 goal guy for us. If it’s $9+, I hope for something in the 4-5 year range. If it’s more around $8.5ish, then I say offer him 6-8 years.

As I’m typing this, Ross is mentioning how Cat was talking about settling in and such. I don’t know. I think it’s in both parties best interest to wait a bit. But I certainly won’t be upset if Dorion announces a $9×8 extension.

God I love this team! 🫶

  3. The growing pains of having 4 or 5 kids making 8 or more per year is gonna be tough but the key is….they're kids and so it's much easier to condone the spending.

This is a beautiful time to be an Ottawa Senator fan.

  4. I have a question for everyone:
Based on his outstanding preseason performance thus far, is Shane Pinto a second line center on many other teams? He’s still technically unproven at the NHL level, having still only played just 17 games. But if he keeps playing like this into the season, whoa mama.

Remember just a couple years ago when our depth at the center position totally sucked? Now we may have THREE top-six quality centers.

Edit: Theoretically FOUR if you include Giroux who will mostly be playing wing

  5. i hate to remind you, but that was Dallas' this year's contract of Robertson… They still have Hintz to sign remember??

  6. Just as a reminder…"after: Seguin, Benn, Robertson, Marchment, Heiskanen, Lindell, and Oettinger equalled 49.85 now, Faksa, Suter, and thats 56.75!!" now you have Hintz?

  7. After watching Sandy for two years (well, year and a half) I can tell that Sens fans don't realize just how good this kid is. After having played DI hockey and following UND since 1974….I can EASILY say Sandy is the best player I have seen in person. I place him only behind Makar and Eichel from the NCAA ranks in terms of pure talent. Give Sandy a few months to size up the NHL….then his star power will become very apparent. Jake has all the tools and plays a mature & responsible game…which should be apparent even now. Good luck this year Sens fans.

  8. My ideal contract for Alex Debrincat would be 6 years at 9 million (or less). I acknowledge that he'll probably want 8 years (if he wants to stay in Ottawa) and he could get 10 million on the free agent market. I'm a dreamer 🙂

  9. Just another talking point you guys could use is where could pinto end up in the lineup and pp throughout the season. Extremely intriguing thinking about how they change up the lines to possibly give pinto more minutes and opportunities
