Larkin will never be traded.
Personally, I think Larkin is soft and has hit his ceiling. I'd let him go and use Steve Y.'s cap space to upgrade. However, Red Wings depth at C is non-existent so they may have no choice.

I wish Flyers look woukd grab a couple deadly goal scorers , Patrick Kane etc…someone Jeeeez …Cam & Provorov and others need 1 deadky gial Scorer and 1 super star…and why Cam York to the AHL ? …"Sigghhh"
Lot of fans need to educate themselves on how the cap works, and what methods can be used to work it to best advantage. Took me awhile to untangle it, as it can get really complicated sometimes. Best learning tool for me was cap friendly. Before doing all that, I suspect I too was guilty of stuff like there's no cap space to do that, or let's just get such and such a player for 6M/yr, and give up a 3.5M player in exchange etc. Working within the cap is everything now.

Sad to hear about Paul Byron in Montreal….he was a good journeyman hockey player BUT with an extra skill which made him valuable as a PK specialist and on fast breakouts….his SPEED!!!! Good on ya Paul….. here's hoping for a speedy recovery and if your career is indeed over….all the best going forward.
