When they let Giroux go, that was the first step into a massive rebuild. However, they don’t really want to rebuild. They also don’t want to really retool. This mindset has kept us below mediocre for a decade.

It’s not fair to take the contract terms and money out of it when you have a cap. It’s a huge part of the evaluation of the moves made and not made.
I don’t see this team being a contender in the near future. Unless Tortorella waves a magic wand, the Flyers might be tough to watch this season.
