Seattle played really well tonight despite the loss with nearly full regular season rosters on both sides. Edmonton showed they are a really good team in the last playoffs and have 2 of the best players in the world.

Grubauer was especially impressive tonight and all pre-season. If he’s back to playing like he showed before last season, Seattle will be a much better team.

Rough end to the game, but overall I think we have a lot to look forward to this season!

    That ending looked very familiar…

Hey, at least the new guys got introduced to the infamous response goal before the regular season starts

I’m saying it now and I’m saying it loud: Gru was awesome tonight. One tiny fuckin thing of bad luck doesn’t erase all of the saves he made. And I hope he knows it and can hold onto the good things and laugh about the bad luck and forget about it. The Oilers are a tough team and there were sequences there that took my breath away. Hold your head up high Grubi you got this

If the preseason is any indication, we’re going to be a much improved team this year. Excited to get this started for real

Good overall game. During the response goal the guys looked really lethargic and tired. Can’t blame them, the Oilers took control for about 5 minutes there and wore us down.

I know it was an unpopular opinion in the game thread, but I really think Gru played that own goal wrong. He had options and during a broken play, he shoulda just frozen the puck.

LOL as if downvoting makes my point less valid. Some people have a hard time recognizing and admitting when a bad play happens. Can’t learn and grow that way.

Our puck movement in the offensive zone is so much better than last year! Setup so much better scoring opportunities. Can’t wait for Anaheim!

Hate seeing a 3 on 1 and no shot on net.

The fact that we made McDavid-Draisaitl-Kane Oilers really have to work for it is a big deal!
