Flames are always in the news nowadays
Bill Guerin must be laughing at least a little bit
It's amusing how many people write the same comment without checking to see if anyone else mentioned it.
Also.
James Neal was released from his PTO in Columbus, not Nashville.
"Stupid Hockey Guy!" ;d
Given his draft stock, someone will claim Juolevi. It would be quite the f-you to Vancouver if Seattle is the one who claims him and he turns out to be a stud.
As a Tampa fan I really wanted Alex Barre-Boulet to have a spot in Tampa's top 9. Feel like he hasn't really got a good chance at the NHL level after leading the AHL in scoring (two?) years ago.
Hellberg is a good pick up. Let Sogaard develop more in the AHL and allows Talbot to get healthy quickly. No need to rush either of them.
COMEUPPANCE?
So those gorgeous Hellberg Seattle pads will never see an NHL game 🙁 Those were a thing of beauty!
Why would we see a lot of Forsberg when Ottawa picked up Hellberg?
Cramarossa is the quintessential organizational depth/ 13th forward type. If the Flames hadnt just picked up zohorna he might have made sense for them.
Tough situation for Sens. Lots of pressure this year. Not sure if Forsberg can play number 1 for 5-7 weeks
Man, the biggest casualty of Hellberg out of Seattle is the loss of his Kraken pads.
Replace Buoy the Krakhead with those pads.
Per Shannon video rules, since he mixed up the teams the preds will end up signing Neal.
just like Murray was out with injury..
Love how Calgary keeps signing these big bodies, always makes watching the team fun when you have numerous guys on the ice who can take anyone out
James Neal hasn't played for Nashville in years….including for PTO…it was the Jackets that had him
Kings waived TJ Tynan, two-time reigning AHL MVP. Bit too undersized to stick it out at the NHL level, I don’t expect him to be picked up, especially because the Kings intentionally signed his contract extension this summer to be a bit of a poison pill for any other team that would claim him.
Didn't think Neal looked bad. You could tell he was a seasoned vet. Lil slow but knew where to be on the ice. I could see him getting picked up if a team comes down with the injury bug.
This throws a wrench in that good season Ottawa was planning on.. they're still building though so can't expect the depth to be there yet
A lot of good players in the next 5 drafts, book it. 2024 looks weakest right now, so….
Hellberg is legit. Don't count him out.
Great claim for the Flames!
Hellberg is a badass name.
Do you think any of Edmontons players will get claimed
Lets go Zohorna!
Please for the love of God allow the Sens to finally have a decent to good start this season, last two seasons have had awful starts and have to start catching up already 20 pts out of the wildcard
Joey Cramarossa such a beauty of a player! Probably about 20-25 years too late for The NHL though. He would've fit in well in 90s NHL.
Ace in the hole Gemel Smith #2bc
Ottawa's done
Matt Murray, now Cam Talbot…It’s a sign, let’s go with Forsberg all the way !
Forsberg can carry the load. No worries. He was not the cause of the teams defensive woes last year.
(Yes we all know. It's Neal released from the Blue Jackets not the Preds).
Neal was probably relieved, after seeing Columbus getting blown out 8-1 by the Hurricanes. I know it's pre-season. But it's still funny.
Pat Hickey and John Anderson would be good career vids.
Fire Benning lol
Time for Forsberg to prove he can truly make it as a number one in the the NHL after having a strong finish to last year. Let's hope he can do well in Talbot's absence.
I'm bummed about the Zohorna thing. I don't think he was was going to be a 40 goal guy. But Sullivan wouldn't even play the guy. And that's the problem. Sullivan is a good coach, but he's so damn conservative in his lineups, you never know what assets you actually have. Dominik Simon had to effectively be shot into the Sun to keep Sullivan from playing him over everybody.
I think Monahan will bounce back if he remains healthy. If the Sens don't play well in the first month, I don't see them making the playoffs. Hickey fell pretty quick. I think there will be a team needing a guy like Stenlund at some point. Same for Hicketts and Cramarossa.
I wonder with Domingue and Tokarski available, goalies who proved that they can play some minutes to offset Forsberg just this last season they go with a guy with career five NHL games since he was drafted in 2011. They might have been better off with Sogaard. I know they want to get him some more playing time in Bellville but getting him a few NHL games may be better than giving time to a guy that has played and grand total of 171 minutes. DJ Smith's coaching career is riding on an average career back up and a guy who has never payed more than two games in a season in the NHL.
why did kraken send hellberg to waivers anyway :O
I’m gonna miss Zohorna on the Pens. While he didn’t play often, he was always noticeable on the ice (and not just because of his height.)
