Don't buy the kool aid lol. Are flames better than last year? Sure. Weager improves their blue line a bit. But other than that, they're the same. Hubes and Johnny cancel eachother out, so does chucky and kadri.

As much as I like the flames this year and they did a crazy good job staying competitive after losing Johnny and Tkachuk, I feel like they’re not going to be as good as last year.. Hopefully they gel quickly as a team or it could go sideways in a hurry

Native Calgarian and Flames fan, here. Let me get this straight: The Flames barely get by the Stars. Get curb stomped by the Oilers who then get curb stomped by the Avalanche. The Flames management then decides: Stay the course. STAY THE COURSE!! With a team that was absolutely crushed by a team that went on to get absolutely crushed. Gaudreau and Tkachuk move on and Tkachuk does the Flames a solid by working with them. Now Treliving is a good GM? Because he did, what? Throw money at some players that, due to cap room considerations, came his direction. Wow, what a genius. By the way, has anyone in this discussion heard of Dylan Holloway. Just one of the players that has allowed the Oilers to split McDavid and Draisaitl and create two dominant lines. The Flames have a lot to prove.
