I think they won't be playing such a tight trapping system. Romonaov will help with the entry pass and they won't get hemmed in so easily when Chara and Greene were there. Wahlstrom can certainly improve. The kid has 30 goal potential. Palmeri and Pageau were both very inconsistent. If they can play to their usual standard that would be another 15 or so more goals. Beau can certainly be better as well. Other then Brock and Dobson no one had a particularly good year. Plenty of room for improvement with the majority of the roster.
I'm exhausted, not just from assembling a swingset for my girls but from another abnormal off-season. This team is great but they need help and the lack of effort put towards improving it's roster is way, way more than frustrating. General management is specifically tailored for minor alterations and ZERO communication. I have and airways will be an Isles fan and AM NOW in a position to become a prospective season ticket holder. But, why would I? I've not been given one reason nor insight as to the excuse, neigh, justification for sick an investment. My TV is big screen, my couch reclines, my commute will be nothing compared to the 2+/- hour nightmare trek from north shore Suffolk to UBS. This off-season has me anticipating nothing but the exciting unknown to what I'll change my channel to which is not another showing of a boring, slow, old, eeked-out justification for and from the Islanders organization. As a whole, I am an Islanders fan banking on a descent lineup of TV timeouts and overt commercialization to solely hold my viewing interest long enough to gleen Matt Barzal's frustration – vis-a-vis: his futile and stagnated attempts for zone entry. Rant over.

Tarasenko shouldn't be as expensive. Blues might not have to trade him, but they know he's leaving after this year. If they want to get something back, they need to trade him.
Was Lou ever in on Kadri? He had his 3 RFA's sign today…and he has $3.5 mil left. Lou couldn't free up 3.5? If this was the case, fire his ass. Could have waived or traded Bellows and Parise traded Johnston/Panik as a package. Almost there. WTF?
I'm starting to believe Lou was never a serious player for Kadri.
If I were Barzal, I would stand firm on 1 year contract next year and go UFA. Get with a team that will back you up.
NO absolutely not. binging back the same forward group that was 22nd in gf scoring a measly 229 goals is inexcusable. and no wahlstrom and bellows aren't gonna suddenly turn into 30 goal scorers so the trotz haters are not gonna like that. always blaming trotz for their flaws and a combined 19 goals between them. and with no top six upgrades means NO playoffs this season. can't make up 15 pt. gap from playoff teams as younger more skilled improved teams are coming from behind. thank inactive lou once again. their top nine after lee and nelson-18, 15, 15, 15, 14, 13, and 12 goals in a season where scoring was up everywhere except for nyi. pathetic.
They can improve their offense by not putting the 4th line out to start every period of every game and not put the 4th line out there after every goal scored by either team….made no sense to do that. All it did was put a less skilled line out for more minutes and more shifts than more skilled players. Barzal needs more minutes and needs to be allowed to be more creative within any system they may play this year.
