1. I'm not going to entertain the thought of a goalie controversy until at least December. It generally takes a goalie at least 20-30 games to really adjust to playing on a new team, and the Avs aren't just any team. They defend in a completely different style than almost every other team out there. It will take some time (and ups and downs) for him to really mesh with the group and for everyone to start reading off of the same page in they hymnal so to speak. I know Shaggy, I hear you already tapping away at your reply. Frankie is a good goalie and now a well established backup goalie in the NHL, but his starting cred is about the same as Georgiev's. I like Frankie as much as you do – hell, I have two of his jerseys for crying out loud, I just haven't seen the consistency out of him in his career yet to say that he can be a number one over the long haul. Granted, Georgiev is kind of in the same boat but he's also 5 years younger and has a higher development ceiling. Could this just turn into a platoon situation where they ride the hot hand for however long it takes for Annunen to get his chance at the starter's crease? Possible, but management won't ride an unstable goalie situation during the Cup window here. If they don't feel that they have a legit starter by the deadline one of these two guys will get moved for someone else, it's that simple. I just look back to last year though where Kuemper started out shaky as hell and then ended the regular season as a top 5 goalie in the league. All the hell he caught in the playoffs was BS

  2. Just a thought Chris and Shaggy, It would great if you Guys and DU Pioneers could do some type of cross over this year, would be great for The Denver area!! Fans.I keep mentioning it to 104.3 the Fan sports radio in Denver to don't forget about DU hockey during last year and this year they will be starting and DU Pioneers Pod Cast. I think your professional would be a great addition!!

  3. Frankie will always be super hot and super cold… one game he looks like an All-Star the next game he's swiss cheese letting in five six goals.

  4. Ugh it sounds like lots of people had trouble finding the feed. I only made it in time to watch the third period but it took me a while to find the stream too. Frankie is always a pleasure to watch in net, so this could very well get interesting as the season progresses. Hopefully we have two solid goalies but there are many of us who are quietly rooting for Frankie.

I was also wondering if something happened to Jacob MacDonald? Was he injured?

  5. It's ridiculous. Altitude disgusts me for showing the nuggets over the Avs. NHL was showing all the canadian teams still no respect for the defending Stanley cup champs. Unreal. Can't even find highlights for the game. IK it's preseason but come on, there's people that want to see this stuff.

  6. Gary Bettman is the worst commissioner in NA sports history. The NHL will be stuck in the 20th century until he's gone.
