I don’t buy the Weegar narrative that was pushed this year, Last 2 games Weegar had only had 1 Giveaway, Chiarot + Ekblad had 7 total in the last two games, nothing, no one wants to talk about it. Florida fan was just looking for someone to blame.

Oh, and I kinda want the leafs for round two. I'm not scared of the Lightning, and I love em as rivals, but Toronto has the style of play that will make for a series that could be out of this world. No diss on either goalie, but both offenses are elite with only moderately good goaltenders. We could see final scores that generally belong nowhere near the playoffs.
i want the leafs, as a florida fan. tampa would be entertaining for the battle of florida, but i think the cats match up better against the leafs and could put them away in 5 or 6. tampa would be an all out brawl
Leafs. If my Pens make it through the empire's Madison Square Deathstar, I would prefer to face Toronto because of our history of getting blown out by the Bolts, and if we were to lose to the Leafs at least it's a team that I think truly deserves to go all the way.

Fun fact: Florida Panthers is the only team in Eastern Conference to win a playoff series without a game 7. I dream of a Maple Leafs vs Big Cats for Round 2. Weegar does turn the puck over at the worst times. Also, is routinely out of position because he’s cheatin’ for the offense. Weegar has not shown to be a reliable top line defenseman when you’re not pushing offense.
I live in the states, but I lived in Winnipeg for 3.5 years and I am happy as a Penguins fan that the Caps are out.

Give it to our fans. They were loud and proud the whole time behind our boys, at the arena. Some mistakes cost us the series. All in all not upset. Florida, go all the way! I don't want to lose to losers! Also, FL fans in Sunrise. Cheer better, and louder! You guys are quiet when not winning, or early game still zip zip!

Fun fact: Panthers don't play in Miami. They play in Sunrise, FL (yes perfect name for a city in Florida), which is 20mins west of Ft Lauderdale.
I bring this up because Ft Lauderdale and Miami are completely different culturally. Just a little tidbit of info.
Great series. The Caps really deserved this but Panthers talent was simply too much. Their quick scoring was deadly and coupled with Ovi not being right was too much.

I'm a caps fan and called this in my bracket as a 6 game series with Florida ontop. Luckily for me this year my other team from the west have I think a very good chance at going to the finals. We want neither. We played Tampa better during the regular season, but both are very good teams. Just enjoy this win tonight.
Not going to lie, was hoping Washington managed to steal this series so in the event the Leafs actually beat Tampa tonight, they would have had an easier second round with an aging team that the Leafs historically do well against when they actually put in the effort. Florida vs Toronto, if it happens, might be a total crapshoot. You know every game is going to be 7-6.
I will say this, Washington fans should have no regrets. This series wasn't even supposed to be anywhere near this close and I think Washington played well throughout all of it, even the games they lost as they didn't lose by much and even held the lead much of the time. You could really see players like Ovie not play as hard in the last 2 games compared to the initial games. Aging sucks 🙁
This is probably the last year Washington is competitive. I can easily see Buffalo and other teams take even more points off them next year. Rebuild incoming. Might take awhile as there is a lot of players past their prime with large contracts. Fans should be proud though – you won a cup with this core and that's all you can really ask.
